Austin Powers in Goldmember

Austin Powers in Goldmember

Plot

Austin Powers in Goldmember takes place in the late 1970s and in 1999, concurrently in both time periods. The film begins with Mini-Me and Dr. Evil failing to kill Austin Powers in his lair. Mini-Me eventually sacrifices himself by pushing a massive concrete ball off a giant bell upon Austin Powers. This selfless attempt only results in his destruction, and Austin becomes aware of a new threat. Austin Powers, the international man of mystery, soon discovers that a new diabolical villain has emerged in the name of Goldmember, a South African crime lord with a unique gold bull testicle-shaped toilet seat, and a long, flowing hairpiece, which adds to his ostentatious persona. As the story unfolds, Dr. Evil teams up with Goldmember with an idea to create a powerful new form of energy that will ultimately give them world domination and the financial capacity to move the Earth into their orbit. Austin, realizing these nefarious plans, teams up with his father, Nigel Powers, to thwart their designs. Nigel Powers is a World War II time-traveling spy from the 1960s depicted as Austin's father, who initially denies any relation with a spy at first due to the dangers of the spy life. He and Austin devise a plan involving attending an AIDS benefit at the Disco Inferno club. There, Austin meets Ivana Humpalot, a tall, stunning woman with an excessive body. Not only is she very boisterous but also excessively exposed in revealing ensembles. Austin meets an old flame and cat burglar, Felicity Shagwell, also in the Disco Inferno club, to obtain information on Dr. Evil's plans with Goldmember by dancing the night away. She eventually, along with Austin, drives to the English countryside where a battle rages in between the pair, Mini-Me, and Dr. Evil, in which Felicity is initially a combatant with the group of villains until an accident makes Austin Powers fall into a lake. She sacrifices her guns for Austin by throwing them to him, earning her standing with Austin. Their initial pursuit takes them to London where the group of villains are attempting to acquire gold bullion. Austin eventually stumbles upon the plot detail that Dr. Evil and Goldmember want to use for World Domination, even involving themselves in a street fight to stall Dr. Evil and Goldmember's intentions to start stealing all of the gold within the Bank of England at night. Upon capturing Dr. Evil, but allowing him to go with a few of their important anti-terrorism intelligence first, this leaves Austin to lead the actual final operation involving Dr. Evil and Goldmember first achieving Dr. Evil's aim by freezing Felicity after her temporary break from spy work that had temporarily had more focus on a child. Austin infiltrates the Goldmember's secret lair by looking to seduce Fat Bastard to obtain entry to Dr. Evil and Goldmember's plans to hoist their plan of creating a machine that can nullify the earth's gravitational pull. Austin then has an entire new fight at the scene with Mini-Me. Back in 1975, Austin is seemingly foiled by Dr. Evil, the South African military chief Goldmember, and as he struggles failing at thwarting the trio's ideas to kill Austin's 'parent' Nigel Powers. Given that various events become tied together, through Austin's relentless pursuits and Austin eventually finally foils the entire trio in both time periods – Austin can reunite with Felicity, free the young, now frozen, Felicity for a few final throws of villain derision; Dr. Evil drives his mini Van into an alligator feeding pit during the film's climax, an avalanche, followed by Dr. Evil committing self-destruction, saving the world from his evil schemes. Notably Goldmember shoots himself with his own time machine after being severely unloved by Austin and after battling Austin and then with that extreme gesture, both men stop their plans to ruin the world on further, they both depart to their own times and now end the movie with the remaining fight against the thieves within the secret underground lair.

This one's even funnier than the first two! The opening scene with Tom Cruise, Kevin Spacey, Steven Spielberg, and Britney Spears? All A-list talent! Dr. Evil is even more adorable in this one, and Mini-Me switching sides to join Austin Powers is absolutely hilarious, especially that body check scene – pure genius!

Okay, here's a sample translation: **Original (Imagined) Review Snippet:** "《王牌大贱谍3》真是笑料百出!奥斯汀· powers 这次要面对的是金手指,一个比 Dr. Evil 还要邪恶的家伙! 迈克·梅尔斯一人分饰多角,简直是天才。 碧昂丝饰演的 Foxxy Cleopatra 更是让人眼前一亮。虽然有些笑点略显低俗,但整体来说,这部电影依然充满了乐趣和独特的魅力,绝对是周末放松心情的好选择!" **Translation:** "Austin Powers in Goldmember is a laugh riot from start to finish! Austin is up against Goldmember, who somehow manages to be even more twisted than Dr. Evil. Mike Myers is a genius, pulling triple duty with hilarious results. And Beyoncé as Foxxy Cleopatra? She's absolutely *shagadelic*, baby! While some of the jokes verge on the raunchy, overall this movie is a blast of pure, over-the-top fun and groovy charm. Definitely a great choice to unwind with on the weekend, yeah!"
