Azap

Plot
In the rural village of Azap, Ayşin, a young and ambitious teacher, has been assigned to a remote village for a period of time. Before her departure, she conducts extensive research on the village online, unearthing a plethora of disturbing news stories about mysterious incidents involving jinns. These supernatural creatures, rooted in Middle Eastern folklore, are believed to be malevolent entities that haunt and torment humans. Ayşin is skeptical at first, but the more she digs, the more she becomes convinced that the village is plagued by these malevolent beings. As Ayşin prepares to bid farewell to her friends, a discussion about the news stories leads to an argument, which eventually turns into a heated debate about the existence of jinns. In a moment of curiosity, one of Ayşin's friends decides to attempt a session of summoning the jinns, using a cup as a vessel. The atmosphere is tense, and the moment is filled with an air of unease, foreshadowing the terror that Ayşin will soon experience. Ayşin sets off for the village under the cover of night, a decision that sets the tone for the rest of the story. Her journey is fraught with strange and unsettling moments, a precursor to the horrors that await her in the village. Upon arrival, she is warmly welcomed by Fatma Ana, an elderly woman who takes Ayşin in as a guest. As they settle in, Fatma Ana shares the news that the village is busily preparing for a wedding. Ayşin, despite some reservations, is initially excited to experience the local culture and join in the celebrations. However, as the night wears on, Ayşin begins to feel a creeping sense of unease. She falls asleep, only to wake up to a night that is identical to the previous one, with no memory of what transpired. This eerie phenomenon repeats for three consecutive nights, each more terrifying than the last. Ayşin wakes up to the same sounds, the same sights, and the same feelings, but with no recollection of the events that took place during the night. Her perception of reality begins to blur, and she becomes increasingly convinced that the nightmares she experiences are, in fact, real. As the days pass, Ayşin becomes trapped in a cycle of terror and confusion. Her attempts to escape the village are thwarted, and she is forced to participate in the wedding preparations, unaware that they are being orchestrated for her own torment. The villagers are not what they seem, and the wedding is merely a facade for a dark and sinister ritual. Ayşin's naivety and determination to uncover the truth lead her down a path of no return, where she will discover the true horror that has been lurking in the shadows. The village of Azap is a place where the boundaries between reality and nightmare are blurred, where the supernatural is real, and where the line between good and evil is constantly being tested. Ayşin, as a symbol of innocence and curiosity, finds herself at the mercy of forces beyond her control. Will she be able to uncover the truth, or will she become another victim of the jinns that haunt the village? The fate of Ayşin hangs in the balance, as she navigates the treacherous landscape of Azap, a place where the horrors of the past are waiting to be unleashed upon her.
