Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a 2022 Indian horror comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee. The movie takes place in the picturesque town of Mandawa in Rajasthan, where it follows the storyline of Reet Thakur, a young woman, played by Kartik Aaryan is initially absent for the greater part of the story however, Reet is joined by her fiancé, Sidharth 'Rohan' Kumar, portrayed by Tabu, and eventually Ruhan, portrayed by Kiara Advani. Initially, Rohan is unaware of the dark truth about their impending wedding. Rohan reveals to Reet that the family mansion in Mandawa, which has been in the family for generations, is in a state of disarray and requires maintenance. This gives Reet the perfect opportunity to get out of their pending wedding plans and to spend some time with her grandmother, played by Rajpal Yadav. Upon their arrival at the mansion, it comes to their notice that it has been locked away for 18 years. The locals are extremely cautious and afraid of the mansion and all that it encompasses. It is later revealed that the mansion is said to be haunted by a malevolent spirit known as the 'Bhool Bhulaiya,' which causes people to succumb to dark madness and lose their grip on reality. As they decide to stay in the mansion, Reet discovers that her grandmother has a connection with the mansion. Reet's grandmother is seen as the key to solving the mystery of the malevolent spirit, and the reason behind its presence in the mansion. Meanwhile, Reet starts experiencing strange occurrences, which makes her believe that her grandmother has been hiding a dark secret about the mansion. It also becomes clear that Rohan has a past and that their relationship might be more complex than initially anticipated. The journey takes a new turn when an old map is found, leading the group to believe that the mansion hides a treasure. This new information creates an exciting atmosphere and brings a sense of purpose to the characters. Reet and Ruhan begin to uncover clues about the mansion's hidden rooms and mysterious paintings. As Reet starts digging into her grandmother's past, she begins to unravel the dark history of the Bhool Bhulaiya.
