Chicken Run

Plot
In the quaint English countryside, a group of chickens lived on a farm owned by the tyrannical Mrs. Tweedy, who operated a business brokering chickens to a local processing plant. Her husband, Mr. Tweedy, was an ambitious, if somewhat doddering, entrepreneur constantly coming up with new schemes intended to increase their profits. The chickens, living in the coop, had grown accustomed to their bleak life, with the exception of Ginger, a clever and resourceful hen, who harbored a dream of flying. One day, Ginger is fascinated by a charismatic rooster from across the farm, Rocky who had once served time for his various escapades. While he claims to have flown, Rocky's past is somewhat shrouded in mystery and doubt. Nevertheless, Ginger becomes immediately smitten and sets her sights on winning his heart by teaching her fellow hens to fly. Ginger enlists the help of Rocky, who begins instructing the flock in aerodynamics and general flying techniques. However, it quickly becomes apparent that the chickens lack the physical attributes necessary to defy gravity, their wings rather useless in terms of actual flight. Undeterred by this setback, Ginger and Rocky devise an alternative plan to help the hens escape from the farm, believing that once they are airborne, they will ultimately cross the ocean, to freedom in Australia. The chickens, determined to improve their prospects, opt for a radical scheme - an actual flying contraption made of metal and flapping material. Not one to back down, Ginger convinces the chickens to raise the funds for the plane, designed by a rather eccentric, addled old chicken named Babs, who has previously spent her life as a mechanic. As the project nears completion, tensions rise as the chickens grow increasingly restless in the coop. They devise a ruse by deliberately losing an egg in a nearby field, under false pretenses, all in an effort to create a diversion, thus giving them the necessary time to put their plans into action. The big day finally arrives when the chickens concoct an audacious diversionary plan. The group, realizing the significance of their attempt at escape, becomes distracted by Ginger's suggestion to watch the show put on by the cooped-up chickens right in the garden. Their unique talent includes a high-pitched singing number created by the three feathered women, in addition to a ballet act given by 'Mel' and 'Maude', the chickens seemingly possessed of an uncanny flair for the theatrical. When the circus spectacular becomes a rousing success, they momentarily deceive and delude the farm owners. By the time they realize the real master plan, the cunning hens have almost completed the building of the aeroplane, ready for takeoff. After narrowly thwarting Mr. Tweedy's attempt to halt their final departure, Ginger ultimately sacrifices her status amongst the chickens by taking the blame for any potential repercussions. Ginger prepares for a heroic act in which, after some negotiations with Mr. Tweedy, Ginger enters inside the new contraption disguised carefully with green-and-blue paint on her feathers. Rocky manages to escape imprisonment but to get away, all is left up to Ginger's imagination, her will to fly that would change the course of their lives.
