As she solves each puzzle, she becomes more invested in the quest, eventually arriving at the final riddle that leads her to the entrance of Clarence's sleepover. With the last piece of the puzzle solved, Mary realizes that Clarence has gone all out to ensure her participation. She begins to see the effort and planning that's gone into creating this unforgettable night, and eventually, she warms up to the idea of joining in. She invites a few friends of her own – some of whom she knows from school, others from the local library – and they start to make their way towards Clarence's house. It's now or never for Clarence. All his friends are either on their way or have finally agreed to attend. Clarence is ecstatic but also nervous; he knows that this sleepover needs to deliver. He starts to set up the house, transforming it into a whirlwind of balloons, streamers, and games.
