Climbing

Plot

Se-hyun, a talented climber, stood at the edge of a cliff, both physically and mentally. Three months had passed since the car accident that left her with a lingering sense of unease and an irreparable physical condition. Despite her doctor's warnings, she had become increasingly determined to participate in the World Climbing Competition, a event that had long been her dream. The pressure to perform was mounting, and the memories of the accident continued to haunt her. At night, Se-hyun would often be plagued by nightmares, the visions of the crash replaying in her mind like a macabre dance. She would wake up with a start, her chest heaving, and try to shake off the feeling of dread that lingered long after she opened her eyes. Her friends and family tried to be supportive, but they couldn't fully understand the toll the accident had taken on her psyche. To her, the world of climbing had become a double-edged sword – a source of comfort and anxiety. One evening, as Se-hyun lay in bed, her phone suddenly rang. She stared at the device in confusion, her heart racing. The screen displayed a number that was unfamiliar, and a sense of trepidation washed over her. Her phone had been damaged in the accident, and no one had been able to retrieve the SIM card. How was this possible? She hesitated for a moment before picking up the phone, her hand shaking. On the other end of the line was a voice from her past, one that had been erased from her life due to circumstances beyond her control. The voice was low and soothing, and it brought back memories that Se-hyun had long tried to suppress. The caller mentioned an intimate detail about a past event that only a few close friends would know. This realization sent a shiver down Se-hyun's spine as she struggled to understand who could have been on the other end of the line. As the mysterious calls continued, Se-hyun found herself becoming increasingly unsettled. Who was behind the phone calls and why were they contacting her? Was it a prankster, a stalker, or something more sinister? The questions swirled in her mind, making it difficult for her to focus on the upcoming competition. With the pressure building, Se-hyun decided to investigate the source of the calls. She began to ask around, trying to piece together the mystery. Her friends and family knew as little as she did, and the more she dug, the more she realized that she was in over her head. The calls had awakened a dark part of her past, and it was threatening to consume her. The day of the competition drew near, and Se-hyun found herself struggling to find her footing. She felt disconnected from the world around her, lost in a maze of fear and uncertainty. Her mind kept wandering back to the phone calls, and the unknown figure on the other end of the line. Who was it, and what did they want from her? As Se-hyun stood on the starting line of the competition, her nerves were frayed to the breaking point. The world of climbing, once her sanctuary, had become a source of terror. The mysterious calls had awakened a part of her that she thought was long buried, and it was threatening to derail her entire life. The competition began, and Se-hyun launched herself at the climbing wall. Her body moved with a fluidity that belied her anxiety, and she found herself climbing higher and higher. The rush of adrenaline and the familiar sense of accomplishment started to take over, and for a moment, she forgot about the phone calls and the nightmare that had come with them. But as she reached the top of the wall, Se-hyun felt a jolt of fear. Was she truly alone, or was there someone out there watching her, pulling her strings? She looked down, scanning the crowd below, searching for a familiar face. There was none, of course. But in that moment, she knew that she had to confront her demons head-on. The world of climbing had given her a second chance, and she was determined to make the most of it. Se-hyun descended from the wall, her eyes scanning the area once more. This time, however, she saw something that made her heart skip a beat. A figure had pushed their way to the front of the crowd, their eyes locked onto hers. It was a fleeting glance, but it was enough to send a chill down her spine. Se-hyun knew that she had to get to the bottom of the mystery, no matter what it took.
