Coma

Plot
In the dystopian world of COMA, the concept of reality is turned upside down. The film begins with a young and talented architect, Kwun (played by Aaron Kwong), who in a freak accident, slips into a deep coma. He is trapped in a world that is made up of memories from all current coma patients. This bizarre realm is governed by the rules of human memory – it's fragmented, chaotic, and ever-changing. In this world, KWUN finds himself lost in a vast, seemingly endless expanse of surreal landscapes. Icebergs float through mid-air, beside rushing rivers and great metropolises – all crammed into the confined space of a single room. The world's boundaries are constantly shifting as various subconscious memories emerge to become a part of this reality. The fractured world around him blurs and transforms rapidly with every step, creating a mesmerizing yet disorienting environment for KWUN to navigate. The architecture, though breathtaking, reveals the psychological turmoil of those who are trapped within their own subconscious. Fears, anxieties, and forgotten memories manifest as eerie, nightmarish structures that permeate the landscape of COMA. It's not long before KWUN begins to grasp the nature of this realm and his presence within it. He is not the only one trapped in this domain – there is another whose pain is more intense, another who roams the city in search of a route home, and another trapped within memories that seem to belong to someone else. Their experiences and thoughts coalesce to create an ever-changing backdrop for KWUN's odyssey through COMA. Despite his disorientation, KWUN persists. He scavenges for information, using his knowledge as an architect to decipher the layout and meaning behind this surreal world. It is on a mission to understand both the nature of COMA and the reasons behind his own coma that he encounters a fascinating cast of characters. Among them is ECHO, a haunting and unpredictable presence with the ability to manipulate time. ECHO will aid KWUN in understanding the boundaries and properties of COMA. KWUN eventually stumbles upon a network of interconnected realms, each representing the life led by various coma patients. Working with his new ally ECHO, KWUN aims to leave these realms, cross through different spatial boundaries, and pierce into the core of this surrealist world. The thought of abandoning these memories spurs anguish within KWUN; these recollections could remain a lifetime away from his grasp. As KWUN navigates COMA, exploring its vast network of realms and confronting the haunting memories and personal demons, his connection with his past life begins to resurface. KWUN's recollections of his injuries become intertwined with that of a patient whose reality he shares – that patient, it seems, is none other than KWUN's identical brother, KWUEN. It is through ECHO's urging that KWUN enunciates the notion that in order to return, he will need to uncover Kwuen's origin in COMA, track down memories tied to his past life in order to return, and possibly influence their interplay in the realm in order to liberate himself.
