Dirty Money

In a gritty, crime-ridden city, two detectives, Myung-deuk and Dong-hyeok, are facing their own personal struggles. Myung-deuk's daughter suffers from a serious illness that has drained their meager finances, forcing them to live a precarious existence. To make ends meet, Myung-deuk resorts to taking bribes from local gangs, who also happen to be his supposed targets. On the other hand, Dong-hyeok is desperate to pay off the mounting debts he incurred from his own reckless gambling habit. Given their dire circumstances, the two detectives have a symbiotic relationship, often relying on each other for both physical protection and emotional support. However, their mutual understanding is rooted in a system of favors and concessions, which ultimately blurs the lines between friendship and exploitation. Myung-deuk uses Dong-hyeok's willingness to help him settle his debts as leverage to get him to participate in questionable activities. The duo's chance to make a fortune arrives when they overhear a vital piece of information – a Chinese gang is preparing to transport a substantial sum of cash out of the country. Recognizing the enormous potential reward of stealing the cash for themselves, Myung-deuk and Dong-hyeok devise a bold plan to intercept and steal the shipment. Their hope is that the proceeds will provide them with a financial windfall sufficient to alleviate their respective personal burdens. As a former detective, Myung-deuk utilizes his knowledge of the city's underground network to orchestrate the heist.
