Downsizing

In the near future, Norway has found a way to address the dire consequences of overpopulation by allowing individuals to undergo a revolutionary procedure called Downsizing. This ground-breaking technology, developed by a Norwegian scientist named Jørgen Baxter, reduces individuals to a mere four inches tall, allowing them to live comfortably in specially designed miniature communities that conserve resources and minimize their environmental footprint. Paul Safranek, played by Matt Damon, is a kind-hearted occupational therapist living in St. Paul, Minnesota, with his wife Audrey, portrayed by Kristen Wiig. They're struggling to make ends meet, and despite their best efforts, they're on the verge of losing their home due to financial difficulties. When they stumble upon Dr. Baxter's clinic, they're presented with an extraordinary opportunity to be downsized and live a life of luxury within the miniature community of Leisureland. Despite their initial differences, Paul is drawn to Dusan's charismatic nature, and the two develop a complex friendship. Meanwhile, Paul's marriage to Audrey begins to unravel as she becomes increasingly disenchanted with their new life. As she struggles to adjust to the constraints of their miniature home, she begins to long for the freedom and space they once had.
