Plot

Eva Vaugh, a thirty-year-old true-crime enthusiast, has built a life around the dark and captivating world of infamous murders. Her friends, seemingly concerned about her lack of interest in anything else, take it upon themselves to shove her into the world of online dating. The plan is for Eva to try out this new dating format as a birthday gift to herself. The idea isn't so far-fetched, considering that Eva's favorite pastime has given her a unique perspective on potential suitors. Before long, Eva finds herself swiping through profiles and interacting with three different men. There's Jake, the charming and handsome entrepreneur who seems to have it all together; Ben, the struggling artist trying to make a name for himself; and Ryan, the suave and well-traveled business owner with a flair for the dramatic. At first glance, nothing sets Eva's radar off, and she begins to see each of them as potential candidates for something more. However, things take a dark turn when the "True Crime Obsessed" podcast, Eva's go-to source for true-crime narratives, starts to discuss a string of murders targeting young women in the city. According to the podcast, all the victims have one thing in common: they were all active on various dating apps and received suspicious, flirtatious messages from an unknown individual referred to as the "Swipe Right Killer." As Eva delves deeper into the story, she becomes increasingly paranoid, wondering if any of her new matches could be the very person the podcast is talking about. As Eva digs deeper into the case, she realizes that her online interactions with each of her matches hold the key to unraveling the mystery. The more she discovers about each man's past, the more questions she has. Her online conversations, which at first seemed like innocent small talk, now take on a more sinister tone. She starts to notice odd inconsistencies in their stories and becomes convinced that one of them is hiding a dark secret. Eva's growing obsession with the case puts a strain on her friendships and her budding relationships. Her friends, who initially pushed her into online dating, are now worried about her fixation on the "Swipe Right Killer." They urge her to back off and focus on her social life, but Eva can't help herself. She becomes determined to solve the case before the next murder takes place, convinced that it's only a matter of time before she stumbles upon the truth. As Eva's investigation progresses, the stakes become higher, and her suspicions focus on one particular individual. She begins to notice small, almost imperceptible tells that point towards one of her matches. In a series of tense and emotional confrontations, Eva must navigate her feelings and suspicions about each of the men she's been interacting with. Will she be able to unravel the mystery and uncover the truth about the "Swipe Right Killer," or will she become the next victim?
