Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore
Plot
The year is 1937, and the wizarding world finds itself on the precipice of a grave crisis. Professor Albus Dumbledore, now an esteemed yet aged leader, has come to realize that his nemesis Gellert Grindelwald is on the cusp of a desperate bid for power. Grindelwald, once a romantic interest of Dumbledore's, has evolved into a malevolent force that seeks to subjugate both the non-magical and the magical communities. Frustrated by his own inability to intervene, Dumbledore decides that it is time to pass the torch to a younger and more agile wizard. He turns to the inimitable Newt Scamander, a renowned magizoologist and author of key works on the magical creatures inhabiting our world. Scamander's experiences during his previous encounters with Grindelwald's cohorts have made him uniquely qualified for this perilous mission. At Dumbledore's behest, Scamander is tasked with compiling a talented team of wizards and witches capable of thwarting Grindelwald's intentions. Among those entrusted with the mission are Albus Dumbledore's own protege, Minerva McGonagall's brother-in-law, Aberforth Dumbledore, whose odd demeanor and erratic behavior belie a great depth of magical prowess; Anton Vogel, a ruthless Quidditch player now deeply conflicted by his own involvement with Grindelwald; Victor Kugler, a Jewish shop owner with strong convictions and an unyielding resolve; and Professor Elijah Bradley "Lusitania" Potter of the 'Noble and Most Ancient Order of the Wand Chosen", whom himself does not yet become publically known about the story as a hero. Newt soon discovers that among his team, old animosities, conflicting loyalties, and crippling uncertainties have rendered them less effective in their quest against Grindelwald. Taking it upon himself to unite his team and improve their cohesiveness, Scamander focuses on those at the periphery, attempting to understand the diverse motivations behind their endeavors. Along the way, the crew soon meets an assortment of old and new magical creatures which not only test their resolve but also raise crucial questions about their individual convictions and the wizards' world.
