Forgotten

Plot
In the sweltering summer of 1997, Seoul, South Korea, Jin-seok, a young and exceptionally anxious high school student, navigated a new chapter of his life. His family, consisting of his loving but exasperated mother, a devoted father, and his accomplished older brother Yoo-seok, had just moved into a spacious new home. At first, the excitement of the new surroundings and the promise of a fresh start seemed to permeate the house with a sense of optimism. However, as the days went by, Jin-seok began to notice a peculiar atmosphere that seemed to cling to their new abode like a bad omen. The house, which initially seemed to embody the epitome of tranquility, started to reveal its darker side. At first, it was the strange noises that echoed through the night - creaks, groans, and what sounded like faint whispers that seemed to emanate from the walls themselves. These unexplained sounds sent Jin-seok's anxiety soaring, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was losing his grip on reality. His parents, though concerned, seemed skeptical of the occurrences, attributing them to the natural sounds of an old house. As time passed, the inexplicable events escalated, and Jin-seok found himself at the epicenter of the mystery. Doors would slam shut on their own, and the sound of footsteps echoed through the halls even when no one was around. His younger classmates at school started to notice his erratic behavior, and Jin-seok's anxiety reached new heights. Despite his best efforts to push through, the strain on his mental health began to take its toll. Meanwhile, Jin-seok's older brother Yoo-seok seemed to be navigating his new life with ease. A high-achieving student with a seemingly perfect life, he had always been seen as the ideal son and brother. However, beneath the surface, Yoo-seok harbored secrets of his own. As he continued to excel in school, the pressure mounted, and he found himself drowning in a sea of expectations. The once close bond between the brothers was starting to fray, and Jin-seok couldn't help but feel a mix of guilt and resentment towards his older brother. As the days turned into weeks, the occurrences in the house intensified, and Jin-seok became increasingly isolated. His classmates stopped inviting him to hang out, and his parents, exasperated by his constant worrying, urged him to calm down. The once tranquil house was now a battleground, with Jin-seok's nerves on edge and his grip on reality starting to slip. It was as if the house had developed a malevolent presence, one that seemed to revel in Jin-seok's misfortune. One particular incident would change everything for Jin-seok. While exploring the attic, he stumbled upon an old, mysterious-looking key hidden among the cobwebs. Intrigued by the discovery, Jin-seok decided to investigate further and began to explore the house more thoroughly. He started to notice strange symbols etched into the walls, the sound of faint whispers, and the feeling of being watched. It was as if the house was trying to communicate with him. With the key now in his possession, Jin-seok's obsession with unraveling the mysteries of the house reached new heights. He spent countless hours deciphering the symbols, researching the history of the house, and searching for any signs that might shed light on the inexplicable events. His parents and brother grew increasingly concerned, warning him to drop the subject, but Jin-seok was undeterred. As the days went by, Jin-seok's search for answers led him down a dark and perilous path. He discovered a shocking secret hidden deep within the house's past, a revelation that would change his life forever. The house, once a seemingly ordinary home, was now a labyrinth of secrets, where nothing was as it seemed. With each passing moment, Jin-seok's world was torn apart, and he was left facing an impossible choice: to confront the darkness head-on or to surrender to the fear that threatened to consume him.
