Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

Plot
In the long-awaited sequel to the highly acclaimed Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the esteemed team of paranormal investigators once again finds itself facing an apocalyptic threat. The film brings together the vintage Ghostbusters crew - Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harvey Fierstein), and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) - who have retired from the Ghostbusters organization and now run a museum dedicated to their supernatural exploits. However, the new generation of Ghostbusters, led by Winston's nephew, Jackson, and friends, Elsie, Carrie, and Chris, is hot on the trail of a significant discovery that will shake the foundation of their esteemed organization. The team, after months of painstaking research, finally uncovers an ancient relic hidden deep within the treacherous Arctic terrain. Unbeknownst to them, the relic contains the essence of a malevolent, ice-god from a prehistoric era known only as 'Malakar'. Malakar, an unbridled force of nature, had the power to control the planet's atmospheric conditions, freezing the atmosphere in solid ice. As the villain, unbeknownst to Jackson and the team, begins to infiltrate the world, tiny pockets of eternal winter start to form around the planet, gradually turning once fertile land into arctic wastelands. Upon realizing that the relic is Malakar's central temple, Elsie inadvertently activates it, unleashing the wrath of the ancient god. With eerie, devastating scenes, a gentle frost seeps into reality and begins melting any barrier that stands between Malakar's unstoppable invasion of the world. Subsequently, a catastrophic event shakes the very fabric of existence, slowly altering Earth's atmospheric balance. Egon is telepathically alerted by a former ally of the team, still conducting research in a secured archive located several hundred miles off the coast of a newly created glacier in front of an entire range of once lush coastal lands. Given the sudden enormity of the threat that looms before them and a realization that time may be running out, Winston hastily reunites his team to protect the planet. A team is instantly formed to once again join forces and delve deep into the frozen terrain. Throughout their arduous journey, Peter expresses skepticism about possibly contributing in any possible manner to rescue efforts even to a glacial catastrophe of such great magnitude. The vintage crew finds themselves struggling to keep their footing on slippery ice in an immediate rescue mission to fetch any vital, preexistent work done by Elsie and the team that can only be understood by Egon. Only hours are left, as the new Ice Age draws ever closer. Thus, the Ghostbusters of the past and present put aside petty differences and combine their extraordinary knowledge and exceptional skills to find a solution to halt the spread of the icy malaise before it's too late. In order to disrupt the reemergence of eternal winter brought upon by Malakar, the new crew has to undergo some intense Ghostbusting. Back at their Ghostbusters Museum, Ray meticulously researches Malakar's powers, confirming his worst fears and revealing the root of the recent terror that has unfolded. Meanwhile, back in the devastated city, Peter teams up with Winston, Elsie, and Chris, who are fiercely battling to avert Malakar's grip on reality. They soon discover that the location they need to find their only available strategic point necessitates ascending into sub-zero temperatures in areas fast becoming an uninhabitable wasteland of ice. As this does not appeal to any of them, Jack provides critical backup from both the classic and new crew who embark on this hazardous perilous adventure in some last-ditch bid to contain the aftermath from Malakar’s arrival to the world.
