Happy New Year

Plot
Happy New Year, a 2014 Indian action comedy film directed by Farah Khan, delves into the lives of six individuals who are brought together by their shared ambition – to win a substantial prize at a prestigious dance competition held in Dubai. The story begins in London, where we meet our six protagonists. Mohan (Abhishek Bachchan) is a skilled Indian dancer who is struggling to regain his footing in the competitive dance world. Charan (Deepika Padukone), another Indian dancer, is initially averse to Mohan's proposal for a collaboration but eventually agrees to work with him. Meanwhile, Nasser (Abhishek Bachchan's lookalike) (Abhishek Bachchan), also known as Naseer, is the leader of a group of four con artists – Kunal (Sonu Sood), Mohan and Charan join Naseer, with the intention of pulling off a daring heist at an exclusive New Year's Eve party in Dubai. However, Nasser has a condition that all four of them must be a part of a dance group competing in the 'Dance Premier League,' which serves as the perfect cover for their main goal. He promises the group the participation fee for competing in the 'DLP,' along with a share in the prize money if they win the competition. The other three members of the group are Aakash and Aadi (Chunky Pandey) and Rohan (Vrajesh Hirjee), who are less interested in the dance but are convinced by Naseer's plan of making a substantial profit out of the competition. The four are initially hesitant, but eventually agree to participate after being promised the participation fee and a share of the prize money if they win. They also recruit Mohan, an expert in contemporary dance, and Charan, an Indian classical dancer, to teach them the necessary dance styles, so they too can participate in the competition and gain a competitive edge. As preparations for the competition begin, we see the dancers struggling to find their rhythm in their respective dance styles. Despite initial setbacks and disagreements, the group manages to put up an impressive act during their performance at a school. However, things get complicated when Nasser announces his true intention – a heist at the New Year's Eve party. Their plan involves gaining access to the party by using their dance troupe as a decoy. Naseer and Kunal create an elaborate set of security breach, which Mohan and Charan are not aware of. Their plan unfolds smoothly until they're forced to improvise when things go awry due to Naseer and Kunal's ineptitude. They then use a complex security breach to gain access to the New Year party. In their attempts to gain their prize money, however, the group faces significant challenges as they clash with each other and confront their own moral compass. During the dance competition, Mohan and Charan start displaying a more personal connection, making them wonder if their true intentions for entering the competition were more than just the prize money. However, the tension comes to an end when Aakash is injured seriously during their dance performances and is hospitalized. The group then decides to forgo their plans for the heist, instead opting to focus on saving Aakash's life by paying his medical bills. Eventually, Nasser is also captured by the authorities following the dance competition. The dance competition, though chaotic and full of drama, leads the dancers to form a bond with each other as they come together to save their injured friend. The film concludes on an uplifting note, signifying that even in the most unlikely and complicated circumstances, friendship and compassion can be a powerful catalyst for good.
