In the small town of Albuquerque, New Mexico, lies the bustling and vibrant high school of East High. Among its students are Troy Bolton, the star basketball player, and Gabriella Montez, the brainiac and daughter of a single mother. They are seemingly worlds apart, with Troy's athletic abilities and reputation making him a social darling, while Gabriella's intellect and quiet nature place her on the fringes of East High's social hierarchy.
