On a typical morning in 1971 South Korea, an Air Korea flight destined for Gimpo Airport prepares for takeoff with a crew of experienced pilots and a friendly flight attendant. Tae-in, a seasoned pilot, partners with Gyu-sik, a new pilot training under him, to navigate the aircraft safely. Alongside them, flight attendant Ok-soon maintains a serene atmosphere as passengers board the flight, unaware of the impending doom that awaits them. As the aircraft prepares for departure, a unique dynamic unfolds within the cabin. Among the passengers is a group of well-dressed businesspeople who seem to be in a lively discussion, while a young father nervously fidgets with his crying baby. These seemingly ordinary individuals couldn't be more unrelated to the events that are about to unfold. After takeoff, chaos erupts when a commercial grade explosives, likely smuggled on board by a notorious passenger, detonates in the cabin. Pandemonium takes over as flames engulf the aircraft, spewing smoke throughout the cockpit and cabin areas. The situation spirals out of control as panicked passengers scream and rush towards the few available exits. The cabin erupts into disarray, with human bodies intertwined amidst the wreckage. Disoriented and wounded, crew members desperately fight to regain control, while frantically calling for emergency assistance. Aircrew members follow procedure to alert others to their desperate status. "Mayday" is broadcast on international emergency communication radio band, at the first available moment. Flight staff are torn between keeping the fragile aircraft airborne to secure possible rescue or save their own lives by crashing in safer terrain for them and passengers alike. Operating under strict protocol and precise training, pilots Tae-in and Gyu-sik swing into high gear, initiating emergency procedures. They desperately try to stabilize the damaged aircraft and control the airflow, while simultaneously deploying emergency landing protocols to secure a safe landing. Amid the smoke-filled chaos, flight attendant Ok-soon plays an unsung hero, working diligently to provide comfort to the most critically injured passengers, co-coordinating evacuation and handing evacuation slides to anxious flyers. As plane pieces crash across different areas, it emerges that a hooded individual is responsible for the catastrophic hijacking. His actions shake both the flight staff and the desperate passengers. During inter-views with the hijacker, crew is confronted with his demands for ransom in exchange for the free passage of all inmates held within South Korea's local facilities. Hijack ultimately, turns attention to an emotional tribute, where voices reach their highest level.
