Hitman: Agent Jun

Hitman: Agent Jun

Plot

In the high-stakes world of espionage, even the brightest stars can fall from the spotlight. For Agent Jun, played by a charismatic Lee Jin-wook, his life was once a thrilling adventure of high-speed chases and covert operations. But that was in his past, long before he traded in his gun for a pen and became a struggling webtoon artist. Jun's life had taken a drastic turn after he was forced to retire from the espionage business, burnt out from the constant danger and the moral gray areas he found himself toeing. His talents as an artist, however, remained unmatched, and he poured his remaining energy into creating webcomics that were equal parts action-packed and thought-provoking. But with the webcomics industry being as competitive as it is cutthroat, Jun found himself struggling to make ends meet, his once-pristine reputation all but forgotten. It was during one of his darkest moments, when Jun stumbled upon a mysterious plot twist to spice up his stagnant artistic endeavors. A web of conspiracies and deceit, buried deep within his own webcomics, threatened to upend the delicate order of the world. But Jun didn't see it as an opportunity; instead, he chose to unleash it to the world, weaving a narrative that would change everything. As his new story starts gaining traction, Jun inadvertently stirs a hornet's nest of people who have connections to his past. People he had encountered during his spy days, and whom he thought he had left far behind, start appearing in the shadows, all hell-bent on erasing Jun's newfound webtoon fame. The story begins with Jun attending a secret underground webcomics meet where a mysterious figure appears to be watching Jun with sinister intent. At this secret gathering, he also encounters another webtoonist named 'Ryu' (played by Lee Sung-kyung). However, their meeting seems to spark an unsettling feeling within our protagonist. As it turns out, Jun's latest webcomic - titled Project: 'K' - has inadvertently exposed deep-seated secrets that many high-ranking officials and government agencies have gone to great lengths to conceal. With 'Project: 'K''s popularity soaring by the minute, people from all corners of society, each with their own hidden agendas, start closing in on Jun. Jun is caught off guard when his quiet life in Seoul is turned upside down, with his apartment being broken into by an unknown party and his friends at the secret webtoonist meet being targeted. Desperately trying to stay one step ahead of the game, Jun must now call upon his dormant spy skills in order to evade, expose, and protect the webtoon he so innocently began. As things spiral out of control, the once quiet life of Agent Jun is now an intricate web of espionage, conspiracy theories, and lies. Each step he takes only deepens the mystery behind 'Project: 'K.' The truth is beginning to unravel, and Jun finds himself hurtling down a treacherous path full of hidden identities and covert agendas. As the stakes rise and with multiple parties trying to claim Jun as their pawn, the line between his life as a spy and a webcomics artist becomes increasingly blurred. It's no longer clear whether Jun is fighting to protect his story, his friends, or even his own identity. In this cinematic game of cat and mouse, Agent Jun must draw on his last remaining reserves of ingenuity, deception, and cunning if he has any hope of surviving the tangled thread of conspiracies which his latest webcomic has inadvertently entwined his life into.
