Plot

In the quaint seaside town of Korea, a young woman named Jung-Sun lives in a charming old house with her grandmother. Jung-Sun is in love with Su-Cha, a young man who lives in the city. However, their love is destined to be brief, as Su-Cha plans to move away. When Jung-Sun discovers that Su-Cha has decided to leave, she is heartbroken and feels a sense of loss. As Jung-Sun's grandmother passes away, she decides to leave her seaside home and move to the city to be with her lover, Su-Cha. However, upon arriving at the city, she finds out that Su-Cha has left her. Devastated by the loss, Jung-Sun moves back to her old home, writes a letter to the next occupant, including her new address and a request to forward any mail sent to her old address. Two years pass, and in 1997, a young and successful architect, Hyeon, moves into Jung-Sun's old house. As he is unpacking, he finds a mysterious letter in the mailbox, addressed to him but written in a different handwriting. The note is from Jung-Sun, who had written it two years ago. Intrigued by the letter, Hyeon decides to respond. However, Hyeon is unaware that Jung-Sun had moved to the city, and he mistakenly addresses the letter to her old seaside address. The letter finds its way back to Jung-Sun, who is shocked to discover that someone has been writing to her from her old house. As they exchange letters, Jung-Sun and Hyeon begin a romance, separated by a two-year time span. Their correspondence is filled with stories about their lives, aspirations, and dreams. Jung-Sun writes about her love for Su-Cha and her struggles to find her own path in life. Hyeon, who has been jaded by his previous relationships, opens up to Jung-Sun and shares his own struggles and fears. As the letters continue to flow between them, Jung-Sun and Hyeon find themselves falling deeply in love. They share stories about the sea, the changing seasons, and the beauty of nature. However, the knowledge that they are separated by time makes their relationship complex and bittersweet. Jung-Sun's love for Su-Cha still lingers in her heart, and she is torn between her feelings for him and her growing affection for Hyeon. Meanwhile, Hyeon struggles to come to terms with the fact that he may lose Jung-Sun once she discovers about Su-Cha. In a heart-wrenching climax, Jung-Sun discovers the truth about Su-Cha's past and his departure. Devastated by the revelation, she is unable to come to terms with the fact that her true love left her without a word. She then decides to focus on building a future with Hyeon, the man who has shown her the true meaning of love. Ultimately, Jung-Sun and Hyeon's love prevails, and they find each other in the present, despite being separated by time. Their love story serves as a testament to the power of human connection, and the ability to transcend time and circumstance. The film is a poignant reminder that love knows no bounds, and that two hearts can beat as one, even in different eras.
