Jeepers Creepers

Plot
In the depths of rural America, where the darkness of night seems to swallow everything whole, two young teenagers, Darry Jenner and Trish Jenner, find themselves crossing paths with a man none of them will ever forget. The year is 1995, and the pair are embarking on a road trip back home from college, each trying to put their demons behind them. Their carefree journey is disrupted when they narrowly avoid being run down by a rickety old truck, its driver careening out of control on the deserted highway. In the chaos, the twins manage to avoid the collision, but the unsettling encounter leaves them both shaken. This should have been the culmination of a nerve-wracking encounter; however, the real horror of their evening is yet to come. Driving down the rural roads, they soon notice a figure running and stumbling through a dimly lit field. Initially, they pass it off as mere curiosity and dismiss the sight as that of a strange man forlornly walking home. Yet, as their eyes linger over the scenery, they immediately regret doing so. It becomes clear that the stumbling man is shoving a struggling – then unconscious - victim into a sewer covering that gives way to darkened obscurity beneath the quiet countryside. Hunters are a source of trouble for both characters as they develop more pronounced fears as they continue to track their adversary. Witnessing his unhinged and sadistic actions forces the twins to confront their innermost fears, ones of loss, abandonment, and the weight of responsibility hanging precariously over their heads. Unnerved, they desperately try to convince themselves that what they witnessed was just their imaginations playing tricks on them, only to soon prove to themselves that their minds were the farthest from the truth. Throughout that night of slow-accumulating panic, the film introduces you to Trish, who suddenly flashes back to memories from her past – painful, anguished moments etched deep within her psyche. These unsettling flashbacks expose to us her inner turmoil as well as an eerie reconnection to the traumatic memories she's desperately attempted to put behind her. Every shot that passes in front of our eyes takes an ominous and mysterious turn that only brings us deeper into Trish's fractured psyche. Darry finds himself the unwilling protagonist, unsure about how best to comfort his hurt sister Trish, pushing him into an even darker mindset, his paranoia heightened, ever-vigilant of the rural surroundings threatening to encroach upon them from every direction. Over that stormy, rambunctious evening, brother and sister are brought to the very precipice of utter despair, fumbling for a means to stop the psychotic killer that is ceaselessly gaining on them. Underpinning the film is the premise of the ever-lurking darkness. Symbolic depiction, heavy on atmosphere and foreboding undertones, in which all-night silences are the source of unspeakable terror. Each episode and twist moves viewers deeper into Darry's fragmented world, bringing them closer to uncovering the intricate aspects of the unfathomable malevolent entity lurking, always concealed beneath that ghastly topography, which the siblings will find themselves at the mercy of before that fateful night has passed.
