In the midst of the bustling streets of Los Angeles, veteran detective Roger Murtaugh led a buttoned-up life, epitomizing order and discipline. A dedicated family man in his fifties, Murtaugh valued his family above all else and took pride in being a responsible and level-headed individual. On another front, Riggs's death wish, his unending sorrow over his late wife and eventual romantic trysts also left cracks to emerge in Murtaugh's controlled, predictable family life. This newfound vulnerability proved yet another hurdle to confront as the unlikely duo steadily moved deeper into the underworld they sought to conquer, their complicated partnership more substantial so each night. Each new day unfolded as the duo encountered more obstacles to overcome, pitted between the rigid conventions they adhered by, as well as the delicate symbiosis of their partnership shaping their perception of duty, loyalty, trust.
