Little Bone Lodge
Plot
In the midst of a tempestuous night in the Scottish Highlands, two fugitive brothers, struggling to evade capture for their nefarious deeds, stumble upon a foreboding and isolated farmhouse. Seeking refuge from the torrential rain, they take the unsuspecting family that resides within captive, hoping to conceal themselves from prying eyes. However, as they settle into the eerie silence of the desolate abode, they begin to uncover the dark secrets that lie beneath its crumbling facade. It becomes apparent that this is no ordinary home, and the family's unsettling behavior suggests a sinister presence lurking in the shadows. As the night wears on, the brothers' initial attempts to assert control over their captives are met with an unnerving resistance. The family's patriarch, replete with an air of quiet authority, seems determined to convey a message that is as much a warning as it is a revelation: this is a place where the fabric of reality is thin, and the horrors that lurk beyond the veil are all too real. As tensions escalate and the storm rages on outside, the brothers are forced to confront the darkness within themselves, as well as the unholy forces that have claimed the farmhouse as their own. In this foreboding environment, where the boundaries between reality and the supernatural blur, the line between good and evil becomes increasingly difficult to discern. In the end, it is not clear whether the brothers will emerge from this nightmare with their sanity intact or if they will succumb to the abyss of madness that awaits them in the depths of Little Bone Lodge.

Like a mantis, forever waiting for its prey to let its guard down.

I'm impressed by the character in this movie who can get up and walk, even sit, right after having a metal bar surgically removed from their stomach and stitched up. If it were me, I'd be bedridden for a week!

The premise is good, the actors are good, and the story is decent. The pacing is a little off, but overall it's a solid film. I'm surprised the score is so low. And one short review said it had nothing to do with a lodge... Why would it need to be about a lodge? That's a strange criticism.

The first few dozen minutes are decent, but the more you watch, the longer it feels. It felt like watching a two-plus-hour movie, when it was only an hour and a half. The plot gets messy and drags on way too much in the latter half.

"Tension and despair linger in the stormy Highlands as two brothers find shelter in a desolate farmhouse, only to uncover dark secrets buried within its walls. The eerie atmosphere and brooding sibling rivalry make for a gripping watch."
