Madonna's controlling nature manipulates what should be an honest behind-the-scenes documentary into a staged drama. A perfect figure outlined by leather, flawless makeup 24/7, even crude jokes delivered with impeccable timing. Ah, the modern and postmodern collision of the '90s, a chaotic decade captured in conservative black and white, recording the most avant-garde and audacious stage performances of the time. But all the meticulously sculpted artifice obscures a group of talented, but deeply broken, accompanying dancers. These uncut gems deserve their own voice, which they found in "Strike a Pose", only together can we avoid being overly arrogant; they truly complete the performance.
