In the heart-pumping horror film Malevolent, a brother-sister duo, James and Emily Sutton, present themselves as experienced paranormal investigators. The manor has a notorious reputation, and its current owner is a wealthy businessman named Richard Goodman, who is desperate to rid his estate of the perceived evil that lurks within. Goodman is willing to pay handsomely for the Suttons' services, and the siblings see this as another opportunity to scam a wealthy client. As they arrive at the manor, James and Emily quickly get to work setting up their equipment and concocting a plan to fake a particularly convincing paranormal encounter. However, from the start, things don't go as smoothly as they had planned.
