Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is a 2015 science fiction action film directed by Wes Ball, based on the novel of the same name written by James Dashner. The film serves as the second installment in The Maze Runner series, following the events of the first movie. The story begins with Thomas (Dylan O'Brien), Chuck (Blake Cooper), Brenda (K Blake Cooper), and Minho (Ki Hong Lee), several of the original Gladers from the first movie, riding in a helicopter, oblivious to the fact that they are being hunted. They are whisked away from the maze to the outskirts of a desolate and post-apocalyptic world, known as the Scorch. Here, Thomas soon realizes that the Scorch is a treacherous and hopeless landscape, inhospitable to human life. This is where WCKD's, or World in Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department's sinister plan unfolds. WCKD is determined to capture Thomas, the only Glader who has shown significant resistance and resourcefulness, as he embodies the secret they have been searching for. As Thomas navigates the Scorch, he is met by Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), one of the original Gladers from the maze, and Aris (Alden Ehrenreich), a WCKD soldier. Newt convinces Thomas to leave him behind, while Aris plans to assassinate Thomas due to a gruesome past experience where his friend was killed by the very same Gladers. In a tense confrontation, Aris delivers truth about his reasoning of betraying WCKD then almost betrays Thomas who is chased after leaving. Newt is picked up by Gally (Will Poulter) and other characters of WCKD, an act meant to sway back by convincing other gladers to be part of WCKD with an ambiguous agreement. On their way back to headquarters with captured Newt, Gally plans to break the truth of WCKD and the Gladers having memories of their lives before the maze. They use newt who is not actually dying, which Newt realizes seeing the dying condition he was in, they return the entire fleet heading to give them their real plan. Upon hearing the catastrophic plan, Gally's rebellion and others initially agree with WCKD as Gally's 'Plan' works out at least temporarily and as part of WCKD, even those captured from the previous experience like Alby (Aml Ameen) continue on. Eventually, they all reach the headquarters of WCKD where a variety of captives are stationed and being harnessed for 'The Immunes', a separate demographic from the people having Glader-type characteristics as captured memories and immune traits both are somehow different. Thomas gradually unravels a plan to reach safety. And while reaching out for escape, Aris shows compassion, releasing a resistance member; Samantha- Sarah and a secret about his past to redeem himself eventually guiding the team, with help from Brenda, he releases all resistance fighters while his friends are trapped in the maze-like the previous story, with intentions to save all resistance from impending gruesome experiment. During the dramatic finale, the gladers' lives and all others captured at WCKD headquarters may end. Gally reveals the harsh possibility of the immunes from Scorch end up being transformed to do horrible tasks when immune state for catastrophic purposes to work from an impending crisis. A resistance that is made up of former immunes in actuality are transformed then eventually fall to the Gladers so things to help them join team of immunes put fight back on WCKD who were also the true immunes- they will give WCKD exactly what they wanted like putting everything on the line as most of the team members killed due to their transformation process then are re – born out of group under their very own strength a cruel illusion. During a desperate mission, Sarah and others are in desperate need and struggle till Thomas, Minho, Newt, and Brenda deliver, fight with those reborn transformed to kill later. Here, while Aris provides strategic support which aids Gladers all initially from trapped fight their journey with WCKD army made only in vain due to unexpected change of side supporting the now reborn only to side their fate until Thomas gives it up to his new home now wanting the old battle- he also thinks there are new possibilities ahead and possibly leaving for new life over trying to kill anymore in WCKD once on leaving Aris joins other members fight although getting their friendship might delay them like getting back the way it went the only end surviving some surviving and a part of group get separated once eventually landing Gladers know hope finally back just right where their past journey shows.
