In the year 1969, Agent J, played by Will Smith, is experiencing a peculiarity that has left him bewildered. For 15 years, he has worked alongside his seemingly unflappable and stoic partner, Agent K. However, just as J thinks he knows his partner inside out, an unforeseen threat emerges that casts a dark shadow over their entire lives. The threat begins to manifest as a temporal rift that appears across the globe, causing chaos and destruction. When the Earth's gravitational waves start to accelerate, creating a temporal anomaly, Agent O, the head of the New York office, is consumed by the fear that this destruction could signal the end of human civilization. Desperate for a solution, J realizes that in order to repair the time gap that's endangering their world, he must follow the trail of mysterious events and the thread that leads him back to the very early days of Agent K's career. With the stakes rising and the stakes of losing his partner beginning to loom ominously, J finds himself propelled back in time to the 1960s. Upon arriving in 1969, J makes his way to the original Bronx where an 8-year-old Agent K lives with his family. It is a new world full of wonder and unease for J, who's struggling to fathom all the unknowns this time trip brings upon him. J manages to make his way into the world Agent K knew before he became the stoic Agent K he now knows, forming a bond with his younger counterpart. Through this unorthodox form of bonding, J acquires new insights into the universe that K has been keeping to himself for so long. It soon becomes apparent that the rogue alien, Boris, has designs on the 40th President of the United States, Richard Nixon, paving the way for the catastrophic event Agent J sought to prevent. However, all that Agent J is aware of is that his tasks, coupled with taking protection of young Agent K in hand, mean having to be alert and safeguard the future through an unpredictable path to tackle a danger man who is a threatening adversary and a force that can easily sabotage Agent J's entire plan. Little does Agent J know, his trip backward in time will now reveal new discoveries about the universe and deep unresolved questions he had when he journeyed back through time. Partnering up with young Agent K becomes his greatest asset, bringing out both of their unique qualities as their lives may soon collide as a calamity, known as the 'wormhole', that looms large and ready to crash down. By means of bringing out key qualities in both the Agent J and young Agent K's ability to interpret something as peculiar and time-stopping as a doorway as a passage to dimensions unseen, will they emerge an almost super powerful duo working rapidly to unlock new doorways that bridge the past and present? Their time trips are imminent. Their final mission is a rickety struggle to keep Agent K's existence afloat before the New York MIB attack both ends with a deadly shot and make their way back into the good time of our world.
