Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem - A Klok Opera takes place in the aftermath of a chaotic and devastating event. The Dethklok members - William Murderface, Pickles the Drummer, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, and Toki Wartooth's replacement, (Nathan) "Flametal" have all managed to go their separate ways, attempting to live a life free from music and all its associated pressures, yet they are consistently reminded of their former life together as Dethklok. Despite these attempts at normalcy, the band members' inability to truly move on and the constant reminders that their past has left, they are constantly haunted by the memories and the guilt associated with the violent and senseless disappearance of Toki, their band-mate and brother. Skwisgaar, the lead guitarist, is seen attempting to start a solo music career and dealing with the inevitable decline of his popularity. William Murderface, on the other hand, is now involved in various business ventures, including real estate, trying to capitalize on Dethklok's fame and influence. As the storyline progresses, a sense of unease and restlessness takes hold of the fanbase. People have begun to notice Toki's absence and are starting to suspect foul play. This growing unrest has a domino effect; it fuels the anger and desperation of certain fans who, feeling betrayed by their idols, have started to wreak havoc and chaos on the streets of their city.
