Negligence

Plot
In the midst of a beautiful suburban neighborhood lies the seemingly perfect marriage between Javerise and his wife. Their love and relationship appear idyllic, but like many marriages, it's built on a foundation of unspoken secrets and unfulfilled desires. Javerise, who has grown increasingly ill, is keeping his terminal illness from his wife due to fear of rejection and potential abandonment. His wife, too, harbors her own secret, one that threatens to shake the very core of their relationship. As Javerise's disease progresses, he becomes increasingly paranoid, his mind racing with thoughts of his impending mortality and the financial implications that come with it. He is convinced that his wife would only use him for his wealth and leave him once he's no longer of any value. This fear sparks a sinister plan to ensure that his money doesn't end up in her hands. Javerise, determined to secure his financial legacy, sets his plans in motion. He begins to create a series of complex financial transactions, carefully positioning his assets to benefit those he considers deserving, rather than his estranged wife. His focus now shifts from treatment to manipulating his estate and securing his family's financial future. However, Javerise's health begins to decline rapidly, rendering him increasingly unable to carry out his plans on his own. In a desperate attempt to see his intentions through, he decides to call upon an old acquaintance, a skilled and unscrupulous lawyer. He commissions the lawyer to prepare and execute his will, knowing that the lawyer will carry out his wishes, even if they are far from the norm. The wife, oblivious to her husband's deteriorating condition, continues to ignore her own infidelity. Her clandestine affair with a colleague seems harmless, but beneath the surface, Javerise has taken note of her transgressions. He knows that the money, a product of years of hard work, should go to his deserving children, not to the man she had an affair with, or, worst still, to the person she's been deceiving her family with. The intricate web of deceit now unravels as Javerise's wife catches wind of his secret maneuvering. She, too, seeks to protect her own interests, fearing that she might lose out on the substantial inheritance she feels she merits. As the story unfolds, the audience is placed in a delicate moral predicament. Should Javerise be rewarded for keeping his wife from inheriting his money, despite his terminal illness? Or is it morally justifiable to protect one's financial security by deceit? This complex exploration into the consequences of keeping secrets in a relationship delves into themes of love, loyalty, deception, and ultimately, the value of trust. The film raises questions about whether a person should prioritize their own desires or protect the other party from the pain of rejection. The narrative skillfully crafts tension, weaving the lives of Javerise and his wife into a tangled thread of lies and deception.
