Now You See Me: Now You Don't

Plot

The Four Horsemen, consisting of J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher) and Dylan Rhodes' successor as FBI Agent, Lily, played by Suleman Nylander, are back in the highly anticipated sequel, "Now You See Me: Now You Don't." The new generation of illusionists is introduced when Atlas becomes disillusioned with his fame after his last performance where he made it appear as though he levitated on stage with no explanation behind his actions, this leaves him yearning to be part of something more magical and authentic. He meets a group of talented young magicians consisting of the charismatic "Aether" (played by Michael B. Jordan) and a mysterious illusionist known only as "Noah." They join Atlas in reuniting the Four Horsemen. This new ensemble plans a high-profile comeback show with an ambitious plan to pull off a massive stunt that will once again leave the world stunned. As they plan they also uncover an ancient mystery hidden within the world of magic that leads them all on a journey to uncover the secret about the origins of magic, which dates back to ancient China. During their research, they stumble upon the legend of the legendary Chinese magician who, in his quest to unlock the ultimate secret of the trade, discovered the power to control the elements. This legend has been concealed within an ancient manuscript and the Four Horsemen are eager to uncover the story hidden within. As the Four Horsemen's plans come to fruition, the New York Police Department (NYPD) is put on high alert due to a series of inexplicable events occurring within the city that have connections to their magic. They turn to Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) for assistance but Rhodes, who is now a seasoned magician, is now dealing with new cases. Meanwhile, it is discovered that an organization called the Order of the Phoenix has been secretly working to eliminate any talented young magician that can be seen as a threat to their mission. They want these gifted young minds to join them to learn the secrets of the Order. This dark order also becomes a central element of the movie plot as their intentions are revealed further. They reveal to the world that Noah is actually their agent and is manipulating the Four Horsemen for their sinister purposes. As more light is shed on the Order, its leader is revealed to be Atlas' long-lost brother who has been seeking revenge against him for a painful past incident. When the world finally discovers the truth behind the Order of the Phoenix and their evil intentions, the Four Horsemen, with their newfound friends in the magic industry come together to stage a show that leaves a profound impact on the public and makes them rethink the true meaning of power and deception. As for Noah, it turns out that he was only part of a larger scheme to uncover the secrets of the ancient Chinese magician, but things go awry when he decides he must eliminate the Four Horsemen in order to continue with his discovery. Noah is forced to choose between serving his Order and his own morality when the full extent of his involvement and betrayal are exposed by the Four Horsemen. Ultimately, they are able to stop Noah and save the world from the impending doom he intended to cause. The movie ultimately presents a thought-provoking commentary on power, deception, and the world of magic as seen through the Four Horsemen's journey of self-discovery and redemption.
