Oblivion

Plot
In the year 2077, the world as we know it is no more. A devastating war has ravaged the earth, leaving behind a barren landscape and a relentless enemy, the Scavs, an alien threat that has consumed everything in its path. Jack Harper, a seasoned repairman, is one of the last remaining humans on earth. He lives a solitary existence in a massive dome, stationed in the skies above the ruins of Manhattan. Jack's role is to maintain the drones that scour the earth for vital resources, such as water and metals, which are being harvested to sustain a remaining human civilization on a distant planet, Tet. The mission is nearly complete, with only a few drones left to repair before Jack can join the exodus to Tet. His days are filled with routine maintenance and occasional excursions to the earth's surface to retrieve damaged drones. Jack's existence is one of monotony and isolation, with his only companions being his AI, Sally, and his fellow repairman, Victoria. The two drones, Sally and Syd, are an integral part of Jack's life, serving as his communication link and security detail. However, Jack's routine is disrupted when he encounters a mysterious woman in a downed spacecraft. Her name is Julia Russell, and she is unlike anyone Jack has met before. Julia's presence on earth is a mystery, and Jack's decision to rescue her sets off a chain of events that challenges everything he thought he knew about his existence. As Jack and Julia spend more time together, he begins to question the nature of his reality. The life he knew was based on a strict set of rules and protocols, designed to keep him safe and focused on his mission. But with Julia by his side, Jack starts to see the world in a different light. He experiences a sense of human connection and intimacy that he had never known before. Julia, it turns out, is a key to unraveling the mystery of Jack's existence. She is a scientist, sent back in time to prevent a catastrophic event that will soon destroy the human civilization on earth. Jack's drones, it appears, are not just harvesting resources, but are also responsible for sabotaging the human mission to protect the earth. As Jack delves deeper into the truth, he realizes that he has been living in a fabricated world, designed to maintain the illusion of hope and progress. The Scavs, it turns out, are not an alien threat, but a future iteration of humanity, created by the very technology that was meant to save the world. The drones, and by extension Jack himself, are part of a sinister plot to delay the inevitable, ensuring that the future of humanity remains trapped in a cycle of war and destruction. With this newfound knowledge, Jack is faced with an impossible choice. He must decide whether to continue with his original mission, maintaining the illusion of a better future, or to work with Julia to prevent the catastrophe and ensure the survival of humanity. The fate of the world rests in Jack's hands, and his decision will determine the course of history. As the stakes grow higher, Jack finds himself at the center of a desperate battle to save the world. He must confront the harsh realities of his existence and the true nature of the world he lives in. With Julia by his side, Jack embarks on a perilous journey, racing against time to prevent the apocalypse and ensure a future for humanity. In the end, Jack's decision will change the course of history, and he will be forced to confront the consequences of his actions. As the fate of humanity hangs in the balance, Jack must choose between his loyalty to the mission and his newfound sense of humanity. The battle for the future has begun, and Jack Harper is its hero.
