Ocean's Eight

Plot
Ocean's Eight is a 2018 American heist film, directed by Gary Ross and written by Ross and Olivia Milch. The movie is a spin-off and sequel to the 2001 film Ocean's Eleven, with the focus shifted from male characters to female protagonists. The story revolves around Debbie Ocean, the sister of Danny Ocean, who is released from prison after serving a five-year sentence for a past crime. Debbie, played by Sandra Bullock, is determined to pull off a massive heist at New York's annual Met Gala, one of the most prestigious and glamorous fashion events in the world. Debbie's plan is to steal a valuable necklace worth $150 million, featuring a massive yellow diamond that has been lent to the gala's event organizer, Rebecca Bloomwood, played by Cate Blanchett. The necklace, dubbed the "Toussaint," is a priceless asset, and Debbie sees this as the perfect opportunity to finally pay back those who have wronged her. Debbie recruits a team of skilled and charming women who share her vision and possess the skills needed to carry out the heist. They include Cate Blanchett's character, Rebecca Bloomwood, the impeccably dressed and razor-sharp event planner for the Met Gala, who is initially unaware of Debbie's true intentions. Lou, an expert in hacking, played by Rihanna, uses her skills to track down and disable the security cameras and alarms in the vicinity of the gala. Sarah Paulson plays Amita, a skilled forger who creates masterpieces that have fooled the experts. She creates fake reproductions of valuable items, which will be planted at the scene to throw off the security team and make it seem like the theft was carried out by someone else. Constance Wu plays Constance, a street-smart and charming hustler who poses as one of the few remaining high-society celebrities with ties to the wealthy philanthropist Lincoln. Margo Robbie plays Daphne Kluger, an Australian actress who has been assigned the job of wearing the Toussaint at the Met Gala, providing a crucial distraction while the others are busy executing the heist. All of these unique characters gather in Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel for a high-stakes poker game which holds much higher stakes for Debbie Ocean - it's her chance to reconnect with past thief crew members like Rose Weil, her partner played by Helena Bonham Carter, who she has plans to set up as a plant for one last job. Debbie's expert crew and she converge on New York, a seemingly impossible task unfolds as the true extent of Debbie's motives and backstory slowly comes to fruition. They devise a plan, which includes taking out the primary security cameras at the museum, and carefully planning the gala so that no one can intervene as they execute their plan. The execution of the heist is skillfully crafted, combining complex engineering, elaborate disguises, and the elements of persuasion, sleight of hand, and other expert tactics. Before long, everything is moving with ease, including the stealing of Rebecca by a car near the Met steps while using a tricked duplicate entrance stair down the side of a Met staff doorway at the newly opened brand new side wing entrance just build in time. On completion of the heist, their carefully planned escape involves transporting the 150 million dollars to Debbie's storage unit, as one more act finishes the crime. In order to avoid the suspicion of the public eye the ex-con gang disperses then finally parts ways, fulfilling their pact to 'make good use of your time.'
