Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Plot

Captain Jack Sparrow, the infamous pirate, finds himself entangled in a web of deception and seduction on the high seas. Blackbeard, the ruthless and cunning pirate, has captured the Fountain of Youth, a fabled treasure that can grant eternal youth and immortality. Jack, however, has lost his prized compass, a vital tool in finding the Fountain, and is being pursued by both Blackbeard and the English. Jack is taken aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's ship, where he encounters the infamous pirate's treasure map. Among the crew members is Angelica, Blackbeard's daughter, who appears to harbor a romantic past with Jack. She is fiercely determined to find the Fountain, using Jack's navigational skills to chart the course. But Jack is uncertain about Angelica's intentions, and whether she is the one woman from his past who has the potential of truly loving him, or a ruthless con artist manipulating him for her own gain. Angelica is torn between her complicated feelings for Jack and her duty to her father. She is fiercely independent and accustomed to getting her way, often bending the truth to suit her needs. Her tactics and motives make Jack increasingly suspect of her true intentions. Angelica, on the other hand, sees Jack as a means to an end - a way to escape her father's dominance and forge her own path. Jack soon becomes aware that Angelica and her father are hotly pursued by the Inquisitor, a Spanish priest tasked with extracting the Fountain of Youth for the Spanish monarch. The Inquisitor has his own reasons for wanting the treasure - not only to grant him more power, but to atone for a past sin by preventing the resurgence of the Aztec God, Proteus, associated with the Fountain. As Jack navigates his complicated relationship with Angelica, the ship enters uncharted waters, transporting them to the unexplored west of the sea. On board, tensions rise between the British crew and the Spanish inquisitors. The uneasy alliance between Angelica, Jack, and Blackbeard begins to fray. The rival sailors start to battle each other, with sinister black magic involved to bring down their ship. On the hunt for a rogue crew who control the ship's navigation, Jack crosses paths with Philip Swift, a missionary on a mission to preach and assist Jack in finding redemption. Together, Jack and Philip face off against the ruthless treasure hunters. They see firsthand the horrors brought about by the misuse of Providence and magic. King Georg, an English colonist of America, takes his own quest for the Fountain of Youth, believing that finding the treasure could elevate his status in life and obtain divine approval for colonial rule. His man, is the ship's captain of an English warship. Prior conflict arises when the King's first captain - Elizabeth, has faith in him still - makes a traitorous decision to divert from their original travel. Not forgetting, the first captain sets Elizabeth as the great victor in one of each case. Angelica and Jack develop their romance late at night on board, the tension builds on the ship as they finally engage each other with sex but Jack realizes she has again manipulated him. She has taken an ointment from Jack that allows transformation (in this case becoming a King).
