Powder

Plot
In a remote mountain town, a peculiar young man known as Powder (played by Sean Patrick Flanery) struggles to find acceptance from his peers. His extraordinary appearance, resulting from a freak occurrence as an infant, sets him apart from the rest of the world. Powder's face is a mass of swirling colors, an eerie glow emanating from his eyes, making him an outcast among his classmates. Powder's isolation is not limited to his appearance; his gentle and introspective nature makes him vulnerable to the mocking and teasing of the townspeople. His home life is marked by neglect and loneliness, as his father, Jack Ridgeway (played by Lance Henriksen), is either absent or consumed by his own demons. Jack is a struggling outdoorsman who feels increasingly disconnected from his son, unable to bridge the gap between them. As Powder navigates his way through high school, his life becomes increasingly unbearable. The relentless bullying from his classmates escalates, culminating in a brutal beating at the hands of the school's star quarterback, Todd Hetley (played by Jeff Goldblum). Powder's resilience is put to the test as he endures this physical and emotional pain. However, Powder's life takes an unexpected turn when he begins to display an extraordinary gift. In moments of extreme stress or anxiety, Powder's body undergoes a radical transformation. His colors intensify, and he becomes imbued with extraordinary abilities. During one such episode, Powder manifests an aura of power that awakens the dead and brings the dying back to life. This phenomenon sparks a flurry of fascination among the townspeople, who begin to see Powder in a new light. They no longer view him as the freakish outcast but rather as a symbol of hope and wonder. The town's residents, including Jack, start to experience transformations in their own lives, as they are confronted with the possibility that their actions have consequences and that they must take responsibility for the lives around them. As Powder's powers continue to grow, his presence becomes a catalyst for change in the community. His abilities begin to heal deep-seated wounds, mending relationships and restoring hope where there once was despair. His influence sparks a spiritual awakening in Jack, who finally comes to terms with his own mistakes and begins to forge a connection with his son. However, not everyone is happy with Powder's newfound status. Todd, along with his cohorts, becomes increasingly hostile towards Powder, fearing that his supernatural powers will disrupt their own social order. As tensions escalate, the school administration is forced to make a choice between Powder's safety and the desire to maintain a "normal" learning environment. In a desperate bid to reclaim his life, Jack decides to expose Powder's abilities to the world, convinced that it is the key to unlocking a deeper purpose for his son's gifts. However, their actions have unintended consequences. A group of scientists and government agents becomes aware of Powder's existence, leading to a pursuit that threatens the very fabric of their lives. As the situation becomes increasingly fraught, Powder's family and friends must rally around him to protect him from those who seek to exploit his powers for their own gain. In a thrilling climax, Jack and Powder are forced to confront their tormentors, leading to a life-changing confrontation. Ultimately, Powder emerges as a source of transformation and hope for his community. His extraordinary powers serve as a catalyst for positive change, demonstrating that even the most seemingly powerless individuals can bring about profound and lasting consequences.
