Raid 2

Plot
Raid 2 is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language thriller film that serves as the sequel to the 2018 film of the same name. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, this movie delves deeper into the world of black money and organizational crime. The film takes place seven years after the events of the first installment and follows the return of I.R.S. officer Amay Patnaik, played by Ajay Devgn, a character who has been missing for the duration of the time between the two films. As Amay re-emerges, he is reunited with Deependra Sharma, his original team lead from the National Central Bureau of Investigation (NCB) before this story arc was bifurcated. Amay and Sharma get back to cracking down on white-collar crimes, dealing primarily in the organized underworld within Panvel. During an audit in Mumbai and its suburbs, they become aware of an unconventional and perhaps more nefarious white-collar operation run by two influential individuals - Pratab Gajra and Vishal Mardani. Pratab is the crime lord who has emensely set up a smuggling game in textiles. Vishal serves under Pratab's command, and plays the key to providing high-stakes logistical aid with extensive black marketing networks due the underworld hierarchy that backs him. However, a different source of illegal goods and associated black cash has now come under their investigative focus - a luxurious international property housing key traffickers in Panvel like Trishul Gajra, whose clandestine illegal narcotics supply chain stretches from Kenya. As part of what first appears to be an ordinary audit operation to crack down an enormous international black money and crimes against Indians having far-reaching external root systems, Amay forms an unsuspecting working relationship with Parineeti Chopra, an untainted and talented police officer as a result of Deependra's influence. Her unique and modern skills complement Amay's sharp strategy that ultimately cracks down crimes. Through their joint operation, they steadily uncover much complexity and danger within Pratab Gajra's world of Panvel-based textile black marketing. Trishul has an extensive system in place for utilizing and laundering large sums of money received from their hidden Kenyan black op hub. Meanwhile, Vishal develops increasing dependence on the very smugglers they are investigating, inadvertently being exploited by Gajra for his operations and struggling financially but benefiting no one more than Pratab does. However, Amay and an increasingly connected Parineeti gradually close in on what they have been meticulously uncovering as part of their investigation which is how corrupt officials were bribed with money and threats in large-scale under which illegal textile operations thrive in plain sight. Their tactics are based on the strategy of the trap that has not only disavowed these corrupt sections from cashing those involved, but which will also effectively disallow further financing of black operations coming from Trishul Gajra with the final legal push happening in terms of execution as powerful businessman.

I've never seen a more badass action movie, period.

Raid 2 definitely ramps up the melodramatic and clichéd plotlines compared to the first, making it feel bloated and overly long. The actors are clearly giving their all in the fight scenes, but the action choreography is disappointingly monotonous and unimaginative. It just relentlessly piles on the close-quarters combat and gore, eventually becoming tiresome and even off-putting. And to those idiots shouting "Greatest action movie ever!" – have you even *seen* an action movie before?

The action sequences are still brutally brilliant, but they crammed in too much unnecessary stuff. Not as tight as the first one.

The Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man sub-bosses felt pretty weak, like they were designed to look cool but lacked real substance. I much preferred the claustrophobic survival struggle of the first film – the fear, desperation, and suffocating tension, followed by that desperate fight for survival and escape.

Why is it snowing so heavily in Jakarta that the snow is piling up?!
