Rambo: First Blood Part II

Plot
Rambo: First Blood Part II begins with a series of prison yard fighting scenes of John Rambo enduring physical and psychological hardship in a US prison. The year is 1985, and Rambo has spent five years in Powell Stockade Prison after refusing to provide his military information during a psychiatric evaluation in the first film, comparing it to his experiences during the Vietnam War. The government notices Rambo's unbreakable physical and mental resilience, which makes him a suitable candidate for a covert operation. National Security Advisor Bill Pullman arrives at the prison, briefing Rambo on the ' sensitive' mission he has been assigned. According to government intelligence, American POWs are still being held in Vietnam, and Rambo's primary objective is to rescue these missing soldiers. Rambo understands the gravity and danger of this mission, knowing his last tour left him as an observer, never engaging in combat, and he still harbors resentment towards the treatment of servicemen during his time in Vietnam. He must put aside his personal demons to carry out this perilous operation. Upon returning to the United States, Rambo undergoes rigorous training, augmenting his fighting skills with explosives and the use of advanced night-vision goggles. He is released back into society under the guise that he will continue his term but not realize he's actually been sent to carry out a covert mission. Reaching Vietnam in the Pucará II, a Cuban-converted military aircraft, Rambo's rescue mission to gather survivors begins where he parachutes deep into enemy territory, below dense jungle foliage near the Huen border between the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Rambo encounters an enemy base camp while using his communications with US Gunship formations and other sources of help. Initially operating independently, Rambo's mission becomes a single-handed campaign as he discovers increasingly large numbers of the enemy forces he faces have been hired by the CIA. His focus shifts from saving POWs to fighting the corrupt US Military, Vietnam government, and enemy militia to ensure that those POWs who never met their US relief are shown respect and closure. Initially using Vietnam's dense jungles to Rambo evade enemy patrols, a battle emerges when the jungle-farming farming regime shifts suddenly into full-scale modern warfare as American Government orders capture Rambo. Using his combat training, knowledge of modern arms, and Vietnam field expertise, Rambo consistently selects the strategic point of action which seems his most manageable position of advantage, demonstrating some level of pre-World War II Vietnam- experienced tactics along his escape. Throughout this mission, Rambo tracks down Lieutenant Colonel Podovsky in a group of prisoners. Upon realizing that several of these POWs have died, Rambo continues onward to help end those deaths. The mission crosses over multiple dimensions from combat tactics intelligence to revealing just how big Rambo's story was for international concern, having him attempt a rebellion on the US and all other foreign invaders in that region of Vietnam. Rambo also releases himself from imprisonment to end all US Vietnam battles forthwith by executing the Americans' main US headquarters in both Southeast Asia and Vietnam. The movie concludes with Rambo escaping back to a helicopter when POWs and Colonel Podovsy himself left behind during a night-time assault are instructed to surrender after discovering and seeing someone new.
