Scary Movie

Plot
Scary Movie is a 2000 American horror comedy film directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, written by Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Buddy Johnson, and Phil Beauman. The movie is known for its outrageous parody of popular horror movies, particularly "Scream" (1996), and serves as a satire of the genre. The film follows Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), a high school student who is navigating her senior year. She is outgoing, attractive, and somewhat awkward, similar to many a horror movie victim. Cindy has a crush on her classmate, Bobby Prinze (Jon Abrahams), who is charming but not interested in her romantically. Her best friend, Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), is a cheerful, stereotypical, and somewhat dim-witted sidekick. Other notable characters include Shorty Meeks (Shawn Wayans), Brenda's socially awkward brother who often finds himself at the receiving end of vicious homophobic slurs, and Shorty's other sister, Donna (Tory Belleci), who is similarly socially inept. Throughout the film, Scary Movie parodies various iconic elements from popular horror movies. The early scenes pay homage to "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (1997), with Cindy and her friends attempting to cover up a hit-and-run accident from their past. The scene-by-scene recreation of the "rescue attempt" in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" offers winking nods at fans familiar with the narrative. However, this setup is quickly adjusted to serve the plots reminiscent of "Scream" (1996), where mystery arrives, involving high homicide and masked killers taking over. It is during the early events that Cindy embarks on a path that showcases a stark departure in terms of social relationships: Shorty, Cindy's buddy, who had an advantage of being gay, is viewed unfavorably by his peers on an unwon gay label, simply because everyone cannot grasp that he could, or even would, have fallen in love with the very opposite sex or have romantically fallen in love with males. As the bodies pile up, Cindy becomes the focal point of the investigation. She must navigate her situation while also dealing with her love life, friendship issues, and an ever-present threat of being stalked to death. Various moments, particularly those involving gruesome death scenes, remind the audience of specific scenes from various iconic horror movies, blending it strategically to demonstrate aspects that have, well become clichés in the horror genre.

Loved the main girl! A lot of scenes were cut, but it doesn't affect understanding the plot. The whole bit with Death smoking weed was absolutely hilarious, and the hide-and-seek game with the main girl at the end was so cute. A fun, easy watch that makes you laugh!

The scene where the loudmouth woman in the movie theater gets lovingly stabbed to death by a crowd of people is just brilliant satire! Let's kill all those who disturb others and spoil movies!

Spoofing classic scenes from films like "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Halloween," "Urban Legend," "The Matrix," and "The Blair Witch Project," but the ending parodies my beloved "The Usual Suspects" hahaha!

Alright, this gets a solid 3.5 stars. It's classic <Scary Movie> - pure gross-out humor and totally absurd. That scene in the movie theater?! Absolutely golden. Hopefully, those obnoxious moviegoers out there will take note, or else, you know, you might end up getting hacked to pieces! (Just kidding... mostly.)

If you cut out all the disgusting scatological humor, this could easily be a five-star movie. It's not that I don't understand American humor, but seeing Doofy defecate in his pants, the close-up of the female reporter's snot dangling, it's really not suitable to watch while enjoying snacks!
