Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child

Plot

In a distant future, humanity has long since ventured into the vast expanse of space, establishing colonies on various planets. Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child, a 2016 Australian science fiction film, delves into the complexities of human existence in the cosmos. The movie takes place in the year 2177, where Earth's last hope lies in preserving the essence of humanity through digital preservation in cryogenic pods. The colony on Arkship, an interstellar vessel, is about to arrive at its final destination in a far-off galaxy. We are introduced to Ezekiel 'Zeke' Fifthen (Luke Bracey), a young, skilled, and fearless fighter who has been exiled from the Arkship. For some unknown reason, Zeke finds himself forced to escape, only to reappear on a strange planet with no recollection of how he got there. Meanwhile, in the heart of the Arkship, Sophia Kelly (Sarah Snook), a scientist and one of the few survivors, stumbles upon an ominous threat: a massive entity called the 'Osiris Child', which possesses the power to consume the minds of people and take the form of their deepest fears. Zeke, once reunited with the rest of the Arkship crew, discovers that he has become the key to resolving the impending global crisis. The scientists on board reveal that the entity known as the 'Osiris Child' has somehow merged with Zeke, allowing him to access its powers. However, this comes with a terrible price: every time Zeke accesses the Osiris Child's abilities, he slowly loses control, succumbing to his darkest fears and impulses. Despite his initial reluctance, Zeke is convinced that he must join forces with the crew of the Arkship to combat this menace. Together, they prepare for battle against the creatures that threaten to consume not only their ship but the very essence of their souls. However, not everyone is as convinced about Zeke's intentions. Aboard the Arkship, there exists a sinister force working against the crew's well-being, driven by dark motivations. As tensions rise and the impending threat draws near, Sophia delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding the Osiris Child, only to realize that her connection to Zeke may hold more significance than she ever imagined. Throughout their perilous journey, both Zeke and Sophia must confront their fears, the true nature of humanity, and the darker aspects of human psychology that lie within. This grueling battle between the forces of good and evil ultimately becomes a quest of self-discovery. Their struggle is set against the backdrop of an impending apocalypse: the entity of the Osiris Child threatens to consume the entire ship, and with it, the last remnant of humanity. The crew, Zeke included, finds themselves on a collision course with existential despair as they face the monstrous forces that hide within their very own psyche. Can the unlikely duo overcome their own fears and the darkness within them, or will the Arkship succumb to the abyss of madness and destruction? The future of humanity hangs precariously in the balance, as Zeke and Sophia fight their last stand against an unrelenting terror.
