Sikandar

Plot
In the cinematic narrative of Sikandar, the protagonist, Sikandar, is a man driven to his breaking point by a tragic accident. This pivotal event sets Sikandar on a perilous path, motivating him to take extreme measures in the name of justice. As he navigates this complex web of moral ambiguity, he finds himself increasingly entangled in a world where the pursuit of power and wealth supersedes all else. Initially, Sikandar's identity is shrouded in mystery. Throughout the film, it becomes apparent that he possesses an extraordinary blend of intellect and brawn, qualities that serve as the foundation for his enigmatic persona. Unyielding in his desire for justice, Sikandar is willing to employ unconventional methods in order to bring about much-needed change. As the story unfolds, it becomes evident that his allegiance lies not with the powerful but with those who are oppressed by corruption and greed. Sikandar's journey begins in the midst of a decadent, lavish party. The glittering façade of this aristocratic gathering serves as a stark contrast to the reality of poverty-stricken lives beyond its opulent walls. Amidst this spectacle of excess, Sikandar's tragic accident sets the wheels in motion. His actions unwittingly unleash a chain of events that ultimately lead to his decision to stand up against corruption using any means necessary. In the world of Sikandar, systems of governance have become warped by the insidious grasp of influential and corrupt individuals. They permeate every level of society, hoarding wealth and power at the expense of the marginalized. As Sikandar ascends this treacherous landscape, he employs his intellectual prowess and fearlessness to exploit vulnerabilities within the establishment, relentlessly targeting those responsible for upending the lives of countless innocents. In a striking departure from the traditional hero archetype, Sikandar is not burdened by a fixed moral compass. His ambiguous moral landscape allows him to forge uneasy alliances and carry out extreme acts of retribution, leaving the viewer questioning his methods and motivations. Despite this ambiguity, Sikandar's crusade against corruption and injustice commands our attention. We are persuaded by his conviction and unwavering dedication to exposing the dark underbelly of a corrupt system that holds those less fortunate in its iron grip. Meanwhile, those who possess power and wealth are determined to quash any dissent that threatens their control. Fearing exposure of their own crimes, they deploy unscrupulous means to eliminate the 'thorn' of Sikandar, who relentlessly denounces their immoral actions. But Sikandar remains a force to be reckoned with, fueled by his personal tragedy and driven by an indomitable spirit of justice. Throughout the story, we see the lives of numerous characters who are tied into Sikandar's narrative. Some are genuinely seeking change, while others contribute to the complexity of the existing power structure. Together, they weave a gripping tapestry that allows us to immerse ourselves in the gritty, unforgiving world that Sikandar battles against. The tragic accident that sets the narrative in motion becomes a poignant symbol, underscoring the price of failure and despair that Sikandar feels is a stain on his conscience. The pain and anguish he endures due to this unfortunate event is meticulously interwoven into the fabric of the narrative, providing an important emotional connection between the audience and the protagonist. Ultimately, the cinematic landscape of Sikandar is a searing commentary on societal corruption and the desperate measures people are driven to in the face of unyielding despair. By placing Sikandar at the center of this stirring narrative, we are presented with a stark reminder that justice often demands extreme sacrifice and courage. In exploring the tangled web of moral relativism, Sikandar eschews simplistic, black-and-white depictions of a hero and his nemesis. His pursuit of justice thus echoes down the corridors of moral dilemma, forcing the audience to ponder their own feelings towards justice. Through Sikandar's odyssey, we are invited to take a glancing look into a society splintered by systems of corruption, giving us a glimpse into a world where right and wrong are in constant flux.

When it comes to swagger, the protagonist's constant "hands-in-pockets, clueless-about-opponents" attitude shows that Indian action flicks are still way ahead of the curve in crafting that over-the-top, 'too cool for school' vibe.

This film is an absolute explosion of craziness! There are two types of Indian movies: one that provokes deep thought, like their philosophy and religion, and another that's like their curry and Ganges water – invigorating and mind-blowing. This one falls into the latter category and is a must-study for creators of online pulp fiction and dramas!

A Bollywood action spectacle starring Salman Khan, delivering justice to corrupt officials and their cronies protected by "my father is Li Gang" types and bribed cops. The 59-year-old Khan is paired with a co-star 31 years his junior. Adding a bizarre twist, his character barely knew his wife until her death, naively believing he might become a father in his twilight years. Sikandar (sometimes spelled Sikander) in Persian means "defender" or "warrior." When Alexander the Great of Macedonia conquered Persia, he was referred to as Sikandar lidi by the Persians, a variation of Iskandar.

The hyperbole, the communist utopia, the authoritarian command style, the privileged cadre lifestyle, and the reckless production directives.

As of May 28, 2025, the movie has not been rated on Douban. // I don't recommend watching the film, BUT – I HIGHLY recommend enjoying the musical numbers!!! // The director and screenwriter (who, unbelievably, is the same person – a truly awful decision!) have completely ruined the movie. What a waste of the beautiful actress by the screenwriter writing her character off, even later flashbacks feel dull. // Furthermore, the storyline is meant to showcase the protagonist's (胡天) immense power and wealth, but in key moments, he seems isolated without assistance, and the female lead appears intent on self-destruction. // These two points make the movie unwatchable. Having seen hundreds of...
