Skelly

Plot
The film "Skelly" tells the story of a young boy named Jacob and his struggle to come to terms with a significant loss in his life. After his beloved grandfather passes away, Jacob's father, Mark, is left to navigate his own grief and find ways to support his son through this difficult time. As the anniversary of Grandfather's death approaches, Mark sees an opportunity to help Jacob cope with his emotions by working together to put together the annual haunted house. For years, the local neighborhood had looked forward to this event, which was a labor of love for Mark and his father before him. The haunted house was not only a thrilling experience for the children who visited, but also a way for Mark to bond with his son and honor the memory of his father. However, the task of building the haunted house this year proves to be a daunting one. With Mark still reeling from his loss, and Jacob struggling to understand the concept of death, they face a challenge in creating an atmosphere that would be fun for the kids but also sensitive enough to acknowledge the significance of what they were going through. As they begin to work on the haunted house, Jacob starts to notice strange occurrences. He begins to experience inexplicable and unsettling events, such as doors slamming shut, objects moving on their own, and ghostly apparitions. Jacob starts to wonder if the supernatural energy they were creating was somehow manifesting in his life. Mark is torn between his desire to keep the haunted house spirit alive and his concern for Jacob's well-being. He realizes that Jacob is struggling to cope with the loss of his grandfather and the haunting atmosphere is only exacerbating his anxiety. As the night of the haunted house approaches, Mark must find a way to balance his desire to honor his father's memory with the need to protect his son from experiencing more distress. Through a series of events, Jacob comes to understand that the "haunting" is not something outside of himself, but rather a manifestation of his own emotions. He realizes that the ghostly apparitions are a representation of the pain and grief he and his father are feeling. This newfound understanding empowers Jacob to confront his emotions and find a way to heal. The night of the haunted house arrives, and the neighborhood comes together to celebrate and honor the memory of Jacob's grandfather. Mark and Jacob's creation is a success, not only in terms of entertaining the children but also in providing a space for Jacob to process his emotions and come to terms with his grandfather's passing. As the night comes to a close, Jacob reflects on the lesson he's learned. He realizes that death is not something to be feared, but rather a natural part of life. He understands that his grandfather is still with him, not in the physical sense, but through the memories and love they shared. The experience of building the haunted house with his father has taught Jacob that even in death, there is still a way to find joy, connection, and celebration of life. In the end, "Skelly" is a moving and poignant film about a young boy's journey to understand death and the power of love and family. Through a combination of humor, heart, and a touch of the supernatural, the film explores the complexities of grief and the importance of holding onto memories of loved ones who have passed away.
