Based on a true story, "Soul Surfer" is an inspirational film where you pretty much know the ending right from the start. The plot is straightforward without significant twists, but it effectively showcases the inherent optimism of Americans, making it a heartwarming and comforting watch. (P.S. I'm so envious of this family!)

I'm a sucker for inspirational movies, and wow, AnnaSophia Robb has really grown up since "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"! While the inspirational arc feels a tad rushed and the backstory stretches a bit long at over half an hour, I couldn't stop the tears when the real Bethany Hamilton appeared. Losing an arm is hard enough just to walk and balance, let alone continue to pursue your surfing dreams.
