Tazza: The High Rollers

Plot
In the searing hot streets of Seoul, a man named Go-ham (also known as Go-ni) is a master gambler who gets involved in a world of high-stakes games and deception. His journey begins in the gritty, underground world of Korean gaming dens, known as 'tazza.' It is here that Go-ham becomes obsessed with a high-roller, Mr. Myung, who has a reputation for being undefeated at the games of chance. After Go-ham loses everything to Myung, he becomes determined to get revenge, even if it means losing everything he has left to chance. Meanwhile, the enigmatic and mysterious Mr. Myung (played by Sol Kyung-gu) is a high-stakes gambler with a complex past that slowly unravels as the story progresses. Despite his intimidating image and ruthless reputation, Myung is a man shrouded in mystery, driven by a burning desire to win back the things he has lost. The movie takes a dramatic turn when Go-ham is forced to meet Mr. Myung, who turns out to be the man Go-ham previously thought of as a legend. Pyung-kyung-jang (played by Shin Goo), an elderly man, seems to have a past connection to Mr. Myung. Go-ham is captivated by the story and feels an inexplicable pull towards Myung, which is further fueled by Mr. Myung's reputation for being invincible. Pyung-kyung is a man who, once upon a time, used to be one of the most skilled gamblers in the city but has now retired and is in a dire financial situation. Mr. Pyung-kyung has lost his family's house, his wife, and his social status due to a combination of reckless spending and bad luck. Go-ham sees an opportunity to learn from Myung, and he becomes determined to become the best in the world and prove his skills to the legendary gambler. As the plot unfolds, we delve deeper into the dark underbelly of Korea's gaming culture, where desperation, greed, and obsession can lead down a perilous path. Go-ham is not only fighting to pay off his debts, but he is also striving for a place at the table with the high-rollers, who have everything he desires – wealth, respect, and the thrill of the game. The lines between loyalty and desperation blur as Go-ham gets caught up in the endless cycle of betting and winning. Along the way, he is aided by a small-time dealer named In-ho, a charming young man with big dreams. As Go-ham rises through the ranks, In-ho serves as a confidant and a sounding board for Go-ham's plans. Through a complex mix of action, suspense, and emotional drama, Tazza: The High Rollers tells the story of one man's obsession to overcome his weaknesses and win against the odds. As each gamble pushes him closer to success, Go-ham becomes increasingly reckless, putting his relationships and even his life at risk. As the stakes rise, it becomes clear that Myung and Go-ham are playing not just a game, but a psychological war of attrition, with the winner emerging only after the other has given up the last of his dignity. It is here that the true depths of human nature are exposed, revealing the darkest corners of the human heart, where desire and despair are locked in an eternal struggle. In the end, Go-ham must confront the reality that has been building for him: that no amount of skill or cunning will ever be enough to guarantee a win, and that in the world of high-stakes gaming, only one person can emerge victorious. The question remains: Will Go-ham find redemption, or will his addiction to the game consume him, forever trapped in a cycle of want and hope?
