Terminator Genisys

Plot

In the year 2029, the war against the machines rages on. John Connor, the charismatic leader of the human resistance, has successfully pushed the Skynet forces to the brink of defeat. However, as he ventures into the heart of Los Angeles to coordinate the final assault, concerns about the future start to creep into his mind. The resistance has intercepted intelligence from TECOM (Technology Exploration and Commerce), their top hackers, that reveals a shocking new strategy by Skynet. The machines have devised a dual-front assault on John himself - a simultaneous attack from both the past and the future. This revelation stirs apprehension within John's close circle, as they realize that their leader may be about to face his greatest challenge yet. Chief Daniel Halloran, a high-ranking member of the resistance, becomes increasingly concerned about the growing unease within John. Daniel, who has known John since the beginning of the resistance, recognizes the change in his behavior and knows that something must be done to prevent the impending catastrophe. To mitigate this danger, Daniel orders a small team to retrieve data from a TECOM agent, whiz-kid Miles Dyson's, daughter Sarah Connor's archives. Little do they know, the intelligence they're about to receive from Sarah will spell potentially catastrophic future events for humanity. The retrieval mission takes an unexpected turn when the team discovers that they are not alone. A group of heavily-armed Terminators, sent from the T-800 (T-102 model) production line on what had been thought was a dead Skynet production line, is closing in on them. Not dissimilar from Arnold Schwartzenegger's classic Terminator on liquid nitrogen, but more menacingly efficient. The team barely manages to evade the Terminators, forced to abandon their mission and leave with their lives. John becomes increasingly paranoid about a traitor within the resistance, reasoning that the new Skynet strategy must originate from an insider. More so due to the Skynet attack's complex mechanism, targeting John, the leader of the resistance in both the past and future. To uncover the mole, John decides to freeze time when the target is 15, in order to face the threat without endangering others. In his personal time-space loop, the 2014 John steps into a younger John's life at 9, giving his younger self a series of orders that point him directly to a future target. This reveals that the '15-year old John' orders are for 25 year old John to oversee a different, secret future; all designed to block out threats that their 15-year-old selves would fail to protect. Therefore while fighting Skynet in the past, the young John is racing against time to reach the future, establishing lines of protection that protect him from Skynet strikes. As time unravels and reality takes hold again, only to jump to the 1930s for the next phase of operation for 25 year-old John, who enters a Los Angeles during the latter years of the era. Only here, to preserve a time line most close to preserving Los Angeles and more crucial the time-space field; young 25 year-old John helps form in the necessary infrastructure to prevent a nuclear disaster. His current body, 90-year-old protector, keeps as cover for his real 25 years of age young self from his current life, and sets in motion the procedure that was given to 15 year old himself back in time. Having covertly ensured his personal protection, John fully wakes into an aged 90 years; understanding his past mistakes in life and from today; that even if in 2029, the resistance may have one foot over the finish line.
