The American Miracle

Plot

The American miracle is not merely a description of the improbable rise to global prominence of the United States, but it's also the result of a series of courageous acts of individuals who played pivotal roles throughout the nation's history. It could not be the tale of individuals alone though, for it encompasses numerous unseen yet pivotal occurrences that set America on its course to power. One such instance dates back to the mid-17th century when the Pilgrims, predominantly English protestants, traveled on the Mayflower across the Atlantic to establish the second successful English colony at Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts. The odds against them being incredibly high, yet their groundbreaking and courageous endeavors sowed the seeds of the American dream. Since then, numerous such improbable events have unraveled, steering America towards unmatched prosperity and global influence. In the 17th and 18th centuries, a thriving triangle trade rose between America, Europe, and other parts of Africa and Asia. A symbiotic combination of commercial relations coupled with political and social conditions provided a sturdy foundation to help drive the destiny of the country. Meanwhile, within Europe, the American ideals of independence and individual freedom were getting rooted in various spheres of societies across the continent. From there, 17th and 18th-century European explorers played essential roles in motivating early settlers to find an 'American solution' to the global 'battle for economic dominance,' all whilst forging out the roads that are key to prosperity and progress which finally resulted in successful colonization of part of the then 'New World.' In 1662, in England, it was Oliver Cromwell who ruled the newly formed Commonwealth. After a heated time, his demise marked the fall of the commonwealth to Thomas Cromwell's half-cousin cousin's cousin Oliver Cromwell, but, due to the inescapable inevitability of time having come for the colonial powers, England returned to being a monarchy. This occurrence weakened the great English empire. Quickly the strong and ambitious states began asserting their presence together with influencing its power base by the effects of Colonial movements across the Atlantic. Thus established in this context was an ambivalent alliance that played a pivotal role in America's rise to power. It was during this pivotal era that men across the colonial seas stood their ground in open resistance against English tyranny. Between the growing population, widespread disillusionment, and mass calls for reform and rebellion, something unpredictable and revolutionary unfolded. An unpredictable transformation had started unfolding which has to be the pivotal engine behind one of the major historical transformation of our time: the American Revolution. In 1774, the First Continental Congress rose to address the newly heightened demands for freedom. A critical turning point in history, they decided to adopt the Declaration of the American colonial rights from men as equals and to state reasons for a separation from the British Monarch. On that day, leaders gathered at Independence Hall, debating the finer points of the formation of this nation. Here, their commitment was apparent, expressing a collective vision of a nation built upon the foundations of freedom, the ideals of justice being based upon consent and that the purpose of every functioning nation's legislation being for the good and prosperity of its citizens. Therefore the very idea of resistance provided energy to this courageous American movement against British imperial domination. In this era, it was the fearless Benjamin Franklin who orchestrated numerous daring confrontations with notorious figures. Franklins perseverance in making the American colony independent showed to many the sincerity in his unyielding stand for cause. Now the fight for freedom was echoing throughout England. Public support now started mounting for American cause with those advocating for American independence spreading throughout Europe; British imperial prospects began to come into doubt. Leading rebels continued their non-conformist stance resulting in an indomitable energy within their strong leadership based on which a groundswell of opposition to the crown became evident with the rebellious spirit spreading fast. 'Not yet can patriots fully comprehend just how impossibly impossible it was to challenge such a massive empire', but one thing is clear: courage was afoot. Now that the wheels of freedom were in motion once more, we see unforeseen circumstance emerge to aid the movement again. But all else remained untameable; it was also clear that nothing – or no one - may now be able to stand in the way of this extraordinary people building a shining new order that shall inspire the world while illuminating the way we look at life.
