According to local legend, the mysterious mountain was once the dwelling place of Kanaq, a demigod with incredible powers who was known to bring good fortune to the people of Tlaquepaque. However, the story also warns that those with pure intentions can release Kanaq and be granted immense power, but at a terrible cost – their memories would fade away. Unbeknownst to Ronnie Anne, her curiosity gets the better of her and she inadvertently disturbs the ancient seal that held Kanaq hostage for centuries. Kanaq, now free from his imprisonment, finds himself in the real world. As Ronnie Anne and her family try to understand what they have awakened, they encounter numerous supernatural events all around them. The family soon discovers that they can communicate with Kanaq, although they struggle to grasp the complexity of the demigod's language.
