The Ghost and the Darkness

In the heart of Africa, the British Empire is on the cusp of greatness with the building of a massive railroad. Sir Robert Beaumont, the force behind this ambitious project, is growing increasingly impatient as delays plague the entire operation. With the weight of his investors and the British public bearing down on him, Beaumont sees only one option to salvage the sinking ship: John Henry Patterson, a seasoned American engineer renowned for his exceptional problem-solving skills and no-nonsense approach.
