This version boasts excellent composition and singing. However, the more I watched, the more uneasy I felt. At first, I wondered if I was overthinking things, but by the middle, I was certain the script was misogynistic. There are plenty of metaphors and abrupt plot twists, but almost all the female characters represent "evil, darkness, and emotionality." Even the three maids with powerful magic, a vocal trio, are depicted as being consumed by jealousy. Meanwhile, the male characters, no matter how contrived, are presented as "righteous." The embodiment of light sings about how "women can never get what they want without a man" and "women need men's guidance," which is utterly disgusting. As a layman, I've never been a big fan of opera. But once, I stumbled upon the infamous "Queen of the Night" aria, and was instantly blown away! I then eagerly searched for all of Mozart's operas to listen to, and discovered that this one was my absolute favorite. For a while, that aria was my cell phone ringtone - highly recognizable and incredibly smug! Haha~

Diana Damrau delivers what might be the finest Queen of the Night aria ever recorded, a performance that transcends three centuries of classical artistry, forging violence, beauty, and hatred into one. This proves that classical music isn't just about elegant aristocracy; it's about igniting the ultimate inferno from superhuman technical demands.

Crowned with Mozart's name, the elegant farce and hysterical coloratura become so spirited, proud, and unrestrained.
