Plot

Kassie Larsen is a vibrant and adventurous single woman in her mid-twenties. Despite her many suitors and a seemingly perfect life, she feels an overwhelming urge to become a mother. However, Kassie has a particular way of going about things, often disregarding the reservations of those around her, including her best friend Wally. A successful and uptight businesswoman, Wally is horrified by Kassie's plan to have a child all on her own, using a sperm donor to conceive. Determined to carry out her desires, Kassie enlists the help of a charming young man named Glenn. He appears to be the perfect candidate - smart, caring, and genuinely enthusiastic about the prospect of fathering a child. With Wally's stern objections ringing in her ears, Kassie goes ahead and inseminates herself with Glenn's sperm. Unbeknownst to Kassie, however, a crucial switch was made at the sperm bank. In a moment of haste and confusion, Glenn's sperm was swapped with that of another man, played by Rhys Ifans. The resulting child would grow up to be a bright-eyed and spirited young boy named Sebastian. As the years pass, Kassie gives birth to a beautiful baby boy and dedicates herself to raising him on her own. Despite the many challenges that come with single parenthood, she finds solace in her bond with her child and manages to provide a loving and nurturing environment. Wally, on the other hand, is still reeling from the news of Kassie's decision to have a child without her input. Though initially distant and disapproving, she eventually comes to terms with her role as Sebastian's future caretaker and confidante. As Kassie's son grows older and becomes more self-sufficient, Wally finds herself spending more and more time in their lives, eventually becoming a close and supportive presence. It isn't until Kassie's boyfriend of seven years, Hobie, proposes to her that the true origin of Sebastian's paternity is discovered. In a scene of great emotion and revelation, Kassie is stunned to learn the truth about her child's biological father. Devastated and feeling as though her world has been turned upside down, she must come to terms with the fact that Sebastian is not the son of the man she had envisioned as his father. As news of the switch spreads, Kassie sets out to find the sperm donor who actually contributed to Sebastian's creation. With the help of Wally, she tracks down Rhys Ifans's character, who reveals that he's not only the biological father but also a loving and supportive one, having kept tabs on Kassie and Sebastian from afar. In the face of this unexpected news, Kassie must navigate a complex web of emotions and relationships, all while trying to make sense of this new reality. Can she reconcile her desire to have a loving family with the truth about Sebastian's paternity? Can she forge a bond with Rhys Ifans's character, and will he become a positive influence in her child's life? Ultimately, the film's exploration of love, family, and identity leaves viewers with a rich tapestry of emotions and a nuanced understanding of the many complexities that come with the human experience.

Not particularly funny and overall quite boring. The female lead is attractive, though.

A really fun, youthful movie. Sometimes you need to switch your perspective to deal with problems.
