Plot
The Vow is a romantic drama film that tells the story of a young couple, Paige (Rachel McAdams) and Leo (Channing Tatum), who are deeply in love and enjoying their newlywed life together. However, their blissful existence is shattered when Paige is involved in a severe car accident that leaves her comatose for several days. As Paige awakens from her coma, she suffers from retrograde amnesia, which erases the memories of the past five years, including her marriage to Leo and her life with him. "Can you fall in love all over again if you lose your memory?" While the movie that best captures this idea, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," remains unparalleled, this film is based on a true story, and the two leads are certainly easy on the eyes. Audience reactions after the screening seemed quite polarized. Personally, I find that I really need films like this – slightly melodramatic, a tad cliché, and not requiring much brainpower – to help warm up the winter chill.
