The King's Man

Plot

In the early 20th century, as World War I looms on the horizon, the world teeters on the brink of chaos. A secret gathering of the most ruthless tyrants and brilliant minds converges in a grand estate in Albania, fueling a complex scheme of unimaginable proportions. Against this backdrop of treachery and decadence, a lesser-known hero, Orlando Blake Colpole, rises to face the enormity of the challenge ahead. Orlando, a cunning and intuited mercenary, is not a soldier, nor a diplomat, but a common man who works on the fringes of society, following the money and where it leads. He carries in him a sense of morality that distinguishes him from those he fights against. Colpole's life changes forever when he arrives in Albania, merely expecting a treasure, and finds himself entangled in a labyrinth of conspiracy. A decade before, Orlando played a low key role in the Somaliland Campaign, defending British veterans from warlords. His resourcefulness shows a potential for deeper goals than those his profession typically offers, this potential catches the attention of Lord Kitchener, head of British recruitment. Before he encounters the villainous group, Orlando starts to join events aligned with British interests and builds ties with high officials and diplomats, thus working secretly for the British government to a small extent. As the masterminds gather, with leaders like Caligula, Roman Emperor; Rasputin, Russian mystic and mystique; Tsar Nicholas II Of russia; Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany and more that embody humanity's darker aspects, a ruthless plan emerges. Their intentions, driven by ambition and hatred, target the weakened European powers by breeding separatism and nationalistic sentiments. Their ideology fuels societal tensions, causing widespread chaos and ultimately sowing the seeds of regional and international conflict. Lord Kitchener enlists Orlando's help to put an end to this dangerous evil. What Orlando finds as the men collaborate on their intricate plans seems to be not only against international relations but at the core of fundamental humanity. Orlando thus decides that regardless of British ambitions to prevent Germany's expansion with their plan; Germany and their partners must be brought down in a strategic covert operation to halt a future war and countless lost lives. Central to his mission is counter-intelligence, gathering intelligence, sabotage, and counter-counter-intelligence. As the enemy factions meet at the Greek coastal port of Volos, their final joint plans become clearer. Aware that it's more than just Germany's military expansion on Europe, the main fear Orlando and Kitchener must spread is the dangers this dark bond of villains will expose, and the ruin it would imply, spreading nationalist sentiments, exploiting cultural identity and their strategic ties that serve them with global chaos under the guise of independence. Meanwhile, Kitchener embarks on efforts behind the scenes, which seek to motivate European nations, rallying the allies at home to thwart the evil ambition's march. Orlando carries on an act that portrays him as an arms smuggler so as to penetrate a further meeting of these mass murderers that will likely happen at Montenegro's sea port. As Orlando gains success in blurring the lines between trusted allies and antagonists, securing trust, before the enemy will meet to decide their ultimate military strategy in Germany, it marks a turning point in 1914. The meeting area is meant to be occupied by these personalities who have designed every military action against modern Britain to maximize their benefits at the cost of all humanity. An extremely cunning operation needs to be successfully completed to destroy their confidence in their co-conspirators, who, if suspected of not acting up to expectations as laid out by all other members will get to know their new intentions before even knowing their personal fate and this ensures their joint military target goes un-maintained by even the one power left in control. In the final hour before betrayal unravels the power struggle made of trust among the alliance, which may lead to certain British being hurt; Orlando resorts to unexpected warfare by setting fire and making explosives from the fuel and alcohol, simultaneously spreading a rumor that will later seem realistic and will leave Germany stunned because it suggests with slight suspicion that the new world plan might fail as allies were never genuine with national agreement for every particular act and nothing made sense.
