The idea behind the Purge, which was initiated by a group called the 'New Founders of America' to reduce crime rates and create a safer society, sounds simple, but the actual results are far-reaching and devastating, leading to a society where people take advantage of the chaos to settle scores and commit atrocities. The story begins with a sergeant named Leo Barnes, who has lost his son several years ago. Leo's world has been turned upside down, and the Purge has become the catalyst for his downward spiral.
