The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie

Plot

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie begins with a grand ceremony at the Krusty Krab, where Mr. Krab is announcing his successor. However, to SpongeBob's dismay, Squidward is chosen for the position, leaving SpongeBob feeling unappreciated and disappointed. The scene transitions to the throne room of Bikini Bottom, where King Neptune is hosting a celebration. During the festivities, the crown is suddenly stolen, and King Neptune declares that the perpetrator will be put to death. Plankton, who often schemed against the citizens of Bikini Bottom, emerges as the prime suspect. However, an unexpected twist reveals that the stolen crown is not the real one but a replica. The actual thief is none other than Plankton's accomplice, Dennis, but he was working on Plankton's orders to frame Mr. Krab. Feeling vindicated, Mr. Krab happily takes the blame but eventually announces to SpongeBob and the citizens of Bikini Bottom that he can't stay in hiding forever. He demands that SpongeBob accompanies him on a perilous journey to Shell City to prove his innocence. Though initially hesitant, Patrick joins SpongeBob on this adventure. The duo sets off on a challenging journey across the ocean, facing a multitude of dangers, including a harsh storm and treacherous landscapes. Upon reaching Shell City, they meet Sandy Cheeks, who provides them with crucial information about the ordeal. Upon their arrival, SpongeBob and Patrick soon discover that they are in the presence of the ominous and menacing citizens of Shell City. Plankton, with assistance from Dennis, reveals that the true purpose of the theft is to trick Father Hercules, a legendary hero of Shell City, into giving Plankton a magical amulet that would allow him to kill King Neptune. However, there is a twist to this plan, as Father Hercules has perished and left behind a duplicate, with a single inscription indicating that this duplicate wouldn't allow their requests for any favors by any random imposter to be granted but denied. When SpongeBob and Patrick visit King Neptune to plead for his mercy, they find Mr. Krab in the executioner's dungeon, being thrown in front of a fatal lighthouse. As they are trying to come up with a rescue plan, a dramatic reunion unfolds between Plankton and his long-lost love, Karen. However, things have changed over time; Karen has no empathy for Plankton's past weaknesses, finding his dreams unsuitable now. While Plankton is unable to reconcile with these changes, SpongeBob realizes that they can use this insight to access Karen's programming. Patrick subsequently proposes accessing Karen through musical rendition, a clue to which SpongeBob uses in the ultimate act to reprogram Karen, turning her allegiance back to Plankton. Upon regaining control, Karen helps Plankton and Dennis in their quest to trick Father Hercules. However, upon arrival at the house of the duplicate, SpongeBob's act swiftly unfurls; remembering from prior plans, Sandy tells SpongeBob to employ the musical rhythm of Krusty Krab music to divert the intentions at hand. As a result, the phrase 'Free Krabby Patties the world over free' gets read out, which in accordance with the duplicate's inscription leaves them unable to use the magic amulet on Plankton. Consequently, the duplicate Father Hercules dismisses Plankton's attempt, causing their scheme to crumble to pieces. In the aftermath of failure, the city's true traitors were found, they being Plankton and Dennis, out on the run for their lives as SpongeBob and his friends return to Bikini Bottom, freeing Mr. Krab from the fatal trap of being sentenced to death, with Squidward admitting his lack of efficiency during his absence hence making Mr. Krab extremely apologetic.
